True Arena Hua Hin to Host ITF Tennis Events in 2017

The International Tennis Federation (ITF) has appointed The Agency Co. to organise 15 professional tennis tournaments for the “Cal-Comp & XYZ printing ITF Pro Circuit 2017” from now until December 2017 in Hua Hin. Hosted by True Arena Hua Hin Sports Complex, the event is mainly sponsored by Cal-Comp Electronics (Thailand) PCL, together with sponsors from various sectors in Thailand. The series will kick off with the female tournaments.

 

A number of leading tennis players from many countries around the globe have enrolled to join the competition, including Makoto Ninomiya from Japan, ranked world no. 405; Fatma Al Nabhani from Oman, ranked world no. 414;  Bunyawi Thamchaiwat  from Thailand, ranked world no. 446; Margarita Lazareva from Russia, ranked world no. 460; and Estelle Cascino from France, ranked world no. 466. A large number of famous Thai players will be participating, such as Varunya Wongteanchai, ranked world no. 654; Nudnida  Luangnam, ranked world no. 666; and Kamonwan Buayam, ranked world no. 683.

 

This year, wild cards will be provided to eight tennis players for the main draw and qualifying rounds. This circuit serves as a developmental pathway to the world of professional arenas, such as the WTA Tour (Women’s Tennis Association) for female players and the ATP Challenger Tour for male players. The event is expected to significantly promote Thailand and Hua Hin as a sports tourism destination among worldwide athletes and tourists, as well as boosting the local economy during the event periods.

 

The competition also provides a great opportunity for Thai players to compete with other talented foreign players to develop their skills and experience, helping them to succeed in a career. The competitions comprise six men’s matches with a cash prize of USD 15,000 per match, six women’s matches with a cash prize of USD 15,000 per match, as well as three women’s matches with a cash prize of USD 25,000 per match. The total prize money and organiser budget is around 25 Million THB.
