PHICHIT: -- A woman was killed and a man injured after being struck by lightning in two separate incidents in Phichit province on Thursday evening.

 

In the first incident, Khampha Chanmanee, 55, was killed when a lightning struck her while she was walking home after working at her farm in Tambon Thungyai in Pho Prathap Chang district.

 

Her son, Montree Chanmanee, 35, rushed her to the Pho Prathap Chang Hospital but doctors failed to resuscitate her. She suffered burns on her neck and waist.

 

In another incident, Anusak Penglert, 32, was injured when he was hit by a lightning while he was stepping off a bulldozer in Tambon Dong Sua Luang, also in Pho Prathap Chang district. He was rushed to the Phichit hospital. He suffered severe burns on his left arm.

 

His friend, Jet Kannoi, 48, said the lightning struck when they had finished their work and were about to go home.
