A joint venture of Thai company and its South Korean partner has won the bid to install electronic ticketing system on 2,600 buses of Bangkok Mass Transit Authority, but a contract cannot be signed yet because a condition regarding maintenance is missing.

BMTA acting director Somsak Hommuang said on Friday that the Office of the Attorney-General had pointed out that the contract was incomplete as it lacks a condition on maintenance which needs to be included.

The winner of the 1,786-million baht project to install electronic ticketing system on 2,600 city buses was a joint venture between Chor Thavee company and CHO, a South Korean firm.

Mr Somsak added that the new TOR of BMTA’s project to procure 489 NGV buses at an estimated cost of four billion baht had been uploaded on the agency’s website for feedbacks from members of the public and all parties concerned.

All part of the "big brother theory" Now the tax man knows before the tax return is lodged

"Maintenance"? What does it mean?

Maintenance is the on going  brown envelopes

Oh no this is going to take away the jobs of bus conductors, progress is no no.

Does this mean they are going to get those buses on the road that

have been held in limbo for so long, wonder how long before drivers

conductors go on strike, means 2,600  conductors will lose their jobs.

regards worgeordie

Electronic ticket machines in those old clapped out heaps??....Any wonder they need a maintenance section in the contract!

Can see a complete debacle about to take place..:))
