KORAT: -- Thunderstorms hit many parts of Thailand over the weekend, causing damage to property. In Nakhon Ratchasima’s Phimai district, storms damaged more than 20 houses, at least five barns, and a hospital. There were no reports of casualties.

“We are surveying the damage so as to deliver assistance to people,” Phimai district chief Chusak Chankoh said on Sunday.

Local resident Chaloei Phopak said the roof of his house was blown away. His neighbours scoured the area to help find the missing pieces of the roof.

Several other districts of Nakhon Ratchasima province sustained considerable storm damage.

In Kalasin province, thunderstorms hit six districts, damaging 273 houses. Up to nine houses were completely blown away. No one was injured.
