Sheryl
Where can I get one in Thailand? Tried the various online sites but I am not seeing anything that looks pre-formatted for Mac. I don't need wireless, cloud capacities. Just an ordinary external hard drive. Thanks!
TobiasML
Just get a normal hard drive and format it with Disc Utility on your Mac.Even the hard drives sold at the Apple stores need to be formatted correctly.Sent from my iPhone using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app

Jimi007
Most external hard drives that say they are for Mac OS aren't formatted with Mac OSX extensions, they use FAT. It's very easy to reformat a drive using Disc Utility that comes with the Mac operating system. Open the utility app and find the drive you want to format. Click on it, then erase. Choose Mac journaled in format and click erase. It takes only a few minutes.Sent from my iPhone using Thaivisa Connect
Sheryl
Thanks, all. What I had read online gave me the impression it was a complicated matter, from the above apparently not so.

HocusPocus67
Sheryl, What capacity are you looking for? I have several mechanisms ranging from 500GB to 2TB and one in an external casing which is almost new (impulse purchase, not my usual style).
