BOI Wealthy Pensioner LTVor continue OA extensions
That is wrong. A complete fabrication. a TOTAL fabrication. There is no such annual re-qualification. I qualified back in May last year. I have had ZERO interaction with BoI and ZERO interaction with the local Phuket immigration since. NONE. The ONLY interaction I have had the past 18-months is with airport Immigration when I enter and leave Thailand, and they look at and stamp my passport. Typically I travel out/in Thailand twice a year and if I maintain that, I will NEVER have to do a report ( compare this to the 90-day reports I had to do on a Type-O/OA ). I will thou in about 3.5 years (at the 5-year point from first getting my LTR visa), need to show proof of my finances again. I look forward to that, as I now know the technique to use (and have BoI accept) my European Cigna Health insurance, and I then won't need to keep $100K US equivalent in a bank account for self health insurance. The insurance requirements for the LTR are, IMHO, massively superior to what is in place today on an Type-OA visa extension (for reason of retirement) -

Nothing to do withthe neighborhood. In Korat (Nakhon Ratchasima) they are rebuilding the Mittraphap Rd., tunneling the road between The Mall and the Macro, and a lot of workers are day-workers. Travelling back and forth on the bed of a pickup. There are in Korat "High Class" settlements like the ones in Phuket or anywhere in Thailand. But these are not for the common Thai people. Shows your attitude, supremacy, towards the "common" Thai people. -

To DTV or not to DTV - that is the question.
Hi shdmn, The points you make absolutely 'spot on' as I see it for myself also - would not be working - but can certainly fit the 'nomad' part. ;o)) DTV seems much more flexible = perfect. At outset I tried for Retirement Visa from UK way back well over 10 years ago and it was a mess - got all the way across Uk to where directed and they were most unhelpful - then up came the 1 /3/12 month route in Chiang Mai and all went well these last 1o years until the Covid things upset all. Point is can I do DTV when I get to Chiang Mai - as with previous Retirement Visa type 'O'. Funds will be in Bank etc ready for the 'off'. So thnxs for reply - stay safe and well - Chok Dee. -

Any evidence of immigration - More lenient now on multiple Visa Exempts?
Not heard anyone having issues since it are 60 days, same with doing extensions. The process itself is faster too than it used to be, seems they care less. The lady ones in BKK airports did seem tougher the last time I was there 2 months ago or so, I avoided it by going to a guy and that was 30 seconds.
