Notary Services Needed

Featured Replies

I'm an American (yeah, I know... my government sucks) living in Roi-et (middle of Isan) and I'm trying to open a new bank account in Europe and they want me to get a document notarized. Anybody know somebody that would qualify to perform notary services? I know that I could go to BKK and deal with the Embassy but I would prefer finding someone local. I'm hoping that Khorat, Khon Kaen, Ubon, Udon, Mukdahan, or Sakon Nakhon might have someone that could help.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Might want to look at this thread > notary public

If you check with the bank you are going to use, they are probably happy to have passport copies, signatures etc notarized by another bank. European banks I have dealt with had a list of "trusted" Thai banks. In fact, a couple of them required the passport copies and signatures to be notarized by a bank.

You will find that most Lawyers will offer a notory service in your own area.

Thailand does not have notary service. Only foreign Embassies are sometimes allowed to do this service. A Thai bank may be able to provide a signature guarantee but not a notary (AFAIK). Thai lawyers, like most lawyers, will find any way to make money they can but it is not a real notary.
