anto
I have bought some motorcycles there .You pay a deposit ,maybe B10k to B20K for A car ? and you get a bidding number on a A4 size card .If you don't buy you get your money back .You bid on the car you want by raising your number by hand to show the auctioneer .If successful you sign a piece of paper you are given .Then you pay the balance at the office then and there or by the next day .It takes 3 or 4 weeks to get the Log book .You can drive the car away though as soon as you have payed in full . Better to observe an auction first time without bidding .Helps if you have a Thai speaker with you as the people there have very limited English .TheY have a web site ''Union Auction '' which shows the cars for sale and an opening bid price a day before the auction . With bikes its safe enough as most are under 18 months old ,and have been repossessed off people defaulting on payments .Not a huge saving though on bikes at least after you have payed commision and tax on top of your bid .I now prefer to buy from private sellers .
