Recommended Posts

First of all sorry if i ask again something that maybe is already in the database of the forum

A guest of us would like to apply for a tourist visa: from Rayong where he needs to go, what kind of papers he needs to do it and how much it will cost?

Thanks so much for your answers

You cannot get a Tourist visa for Thailand from inside Thailand

I know that Sanemax: this guest he would like to go to a narby embassy to get a tourist visa: he has plan to travel to Phuket, but he is now in Rayong: so from Rayong where is the best nearby embassy to do the tourist visa, what he needs and how much is the cost for it.

Or if he will go to Phuket, from there where is the best solution?

Thank you

All Thai Embassy and consulates do tourist visas .

Look on a map for the nearest one

Penang and Vientiane are the better ones to go to, avoid Savanakhet and Kuala Lumpa

1000 Baht for 60 days

And what documents are needed for a single entry tourist visa?

At Penang and Vientiane you need your passport, 1000 Baht, and to fill out an application including the intended location of stay in Thailand.  At others, it varies.

Pick a consulate first - then we can answer that question with more detail; they all differ.

Let's say Vientiane or Penang

In that case, the list above is all - passport, 1000 Baht, and to fill out an application including the intended location of stay in Thailand.

Do you need photos as well?

Yes - as part of the Application Form.

And and update on Penang - they are now asking for a flight-ticket out - so Vientiane is the place to go in the area that only requires the minimum.  This was posted to a Penang-agent's (Jim's Guesthouse) Facebook page:

Hello my friends and clients living in Thailand,if u want a tourist visa please bring a house or hostel or bungalow rental agreement or a receipt and a flight ticket out of Thailand after 2 months and please please please print it out in Thailand before u come to Penang.thank u

The cheapest way to reach Vientiane from Phuket?

Bus and/or train from Hat Yai to Nong Khai.

Planned in advance a flight from Phuket to Udon Thani and then a van from the airport to the bridge in Nong Khai.

Will a residence certificate (few months old) and a TM30 slip suffice for this purpose?

I would assume that would work, but I always used a rental-contract and condo-mgmt letter.  Others used online-hotel bookings.
