Hallo community,

A friend of mine got a serious problem and we need some serious help so I would be thankful for every answer!

Me and my friend (both german) arrived in Thaand (Phuket) on 1st of may.

On 8th of may we arrived in Bangkok and on 9th of may my friend got stuck in a serious problem:

We were at a shopping mall (Siam Paragon) shopping and looking for clothes when apparently someone put clothes into the bag of my friend!

He laid the bag down on the ground that's how they were able to put it in and we also saw it and started arguing in an angry way while also the security guy came to us. At the end everything was led to the point that they didn't believe us and said he stole the things by puting the clothes into his own bag. We asked for camera evidence but they didn't show us. The police put my friend under arrwst for 2 days until his family released him on bail.

But the police station took his passport and he also got a lawyer here but he is stuck in bangkok for a moth now and we are extremely scared about not knowing what will happen. Despite the fact that he didn't do that and everybody seems to be corrupt we just wanted to handle everything even if we had to pay but the shopowner didn't want to and the police send the case to court but this is just unbelievable!!! An we can't handle that with our conscience because this is just unhuman behaviour I don't understand that but still the fact is we want to search for solutions and we don't even care anymore if it must be done in an illegal or legal way!

Is it possible for him to get a new passport from his embassy?

But how can he pass the aiport than? And are there ways to get the stamps for visa? Other he won't be able to leave

I appreciate every answer, thank you!

This forum is not here to offer advice on how to break Thai Law.

Your friend is on bail and part of his bail conditions are that he remains in Thailand, to ensure that happens he has had to surrender his passport.

A Consulate will not issue a replacement passport in such circumstances, and Thai Visa cannot be used as a platform to seek advice on how to circumnavigate the law.

I'm closing this thread, in the meantime your friend should seek the advice of a lawyer, maybe via his consulate.
