Hello,

I have a one way ticket from Paris to Bangkok with Oman Air and no visa... but a thai address on my french passport. Do you think Oman Air could make me problem and refuse to board me ? I'll be curious to hear from people flying with them.

Thanks !

Yes they may not let you on the flight because you do not meet the Thai entry requirements. You have the choice of getting a visa, buying an onward flight for $30? To Malaysia, Cambodia, Vietnam etc with one of the low cost airlines or gamble because it's not guaranteed they will deny you boarding. What's the worst that could happen? You need a hotel in Paris, you have to get a visa? Rebooking charge and fare upgrade for a flight in in 5 days time with a 23 hour connection in Oman, hundreds of euros spent and time wasted?

You make the choice what you want to do? Also Oman Air are jam packed with Qatar Airways passengers at the moment so maybe not a good time for doing date changes.

Moved to Thaivisa forum where similar questions arise from time to time.

(and somewhat misplaced at trip reports)

About Qatar Airways, I read despite the ban, flight from Doha to Bangkok are flying normally.

Correct. Four of five Qatar flights DOH BKK yesterday landed on-time. One delayed just 16 minutes.

The capacities of Qatar, Emirates and Etihad are so huge compared to Oman.

Qatar Airways are barred from flying to 18? Destinations in Saudi, UAE , Egypt etc. They will have sold thousands of tickets to these destinations from Paris. Oman Air will fly to some of these gulf destinations so you may find Qatar Airways passengers who are flying from Paris to Saudi,UAE, Bahrain are now on Oman Air(also BA, AF etc) and taking any empty seats they have. So not good news if you want to make a date change from Paris to Bangkok in the new future, because the flight to Oman is now full even if the connecting flight to BKK has space.

Ok, so I have flied from Paris to Bangkok with a stop in Muscat, with a one-way ticket and no thai visa. Maybe because I made an online check-in, no one asked me to show a proof I'll leave Thailand for an other country before 30 days. The two flights were fine, nothing special or bad (still, air-con was too cold), flight from Muscat to Bangkok was a little late (30mns), not a big deal. As I didn't sleep a lot in the plane and it was landing at 6:30pm in Bangkok, I felt asleep as soon as I was in a bed, at about 9pm and found it very easy for managing the jetlag.
