They may want fewer dead backpackers, not to mention dead Thais. Not a bad thought.

However, this bill, if passed, would certainly have a deadly effect on tourism.

But only if it were inforced, that is.

Anyone still having difficulties purchashing alcohol between 1pm-5pm? Even the supermarkets are selling it during the 'off hours.'

This "25 years old to drink law" came a a few months back as I recall, and it was shot down. I don't know what would have changed since then to make it pass this time around.

Don't enforce the age restrictions now apart from token raids, so make it older only makes it worse.
