A woman had a lucky escape this afternoon and was uninjured when a giant tree collapsed onto her house in Chai Nat province.

Sommana Kwansri, 59, said she was enjoying a meal in her kitchen on a windy day when her husband shouted from outside that the 100-year-old jambul plum tree nearby was falling onto their house. She was too scared to move, so she just stood there and prayed.

The kitchen area was not at all affected, and Sommana was miraculously unharmed.

Her lucky amulet saved her.

Having these huge trees so close to buildings was just inviting the disaster that happened to

this house.  Live and learn.   We almost lost our farm home this way, and luckily our uncle seen that

the tree was diseased and leaning, so we cut it down before it fell into the house.

Glad the lady was not injured

Geezer

Pity help the first person who takes a chainsaw to it. They will likely be carted straight off to jail like the 80 year old man was when he tried to cut up a dead tree to clear the road. An envelope can change all that of course.
