Savannakhet

They could take the train from the Main Train Station (Hua-lumpong) in Bangkok to Nong Khai or the bus from the New North Bus Station (Morchitt II). They would then cross the bridge and go to Vientiane Royal Thai Embassy in Laos.

The alternative would be bus to Mukdahan and cross river to Savannakhet in Laos to the Royal Thai Consulate.

The Bangkok visa services seem to have scheduled trips now to obtain tourist visas if that would be helpful. They advertise in Bangkok Newspapers classified sections.

ok thanks a lot. i'll check tomorrow.

If you opt for the taking the trains it is far easier to reserve seats through the travel agent devoted to this service at <link removed> than it is to use the Hua Lamphong station staff.
