'Spartan Race' Obstacle Course Coming To Thailand

CHONBURI — This September, get ready to bust through an obstacle course so hard, you might feel like one of Leonidas’s 300.

 

The Spartan Race, a an obstacle race franchise, will be held at a country club in Chonburi. Get ready to crawl through mud, plunge through water and leap over fire for 5 kilometers in a bid to win cash prizes – 25,000 for first prize, 15,000 for second and 5,000 baht for third.

...that's the advanced course.

This one has been very heavily promoted, but there are several other obstacle race options available that offering more challenging distances. The Singha Obstacle Run held in different locations around the country 2 or 3 times a year offers team/individuals a chance to run 8 or 16km runs with 18 and 38 obstacles respectively, vs. the single 5km distance the Spartan run offers. These other events are also less than half the price of the Spartan run, which is close to 2k baht for entry.
