Given that Pattaya police's main job seems to be handing out traffic tickets these days (and I mean Soi 9's Finest, not just traffic cops), I wonder if anyone knows what happens when the fine is actually paid at the police station.

 

Presumably the individual cop gets a piece, the police station take a share, and onwards and upwards the food chain. So how much/what percentage actually gets deposited in the State coffers, if anything.


Also how do the State know what they're missing out on. Do you reckon traffic tickets are audited at any stage so the government knows it is not being 'short-changed'?
