Dear fellow friends,

I am a teacher in Thailand and I resigned my job after 2 years and 2 months. I gave one month notice (as stated in my contract) and everything is ok with the school. Although the HR of the school are very unexperienced and young so they are giving me mix informations about my WP cancelation. The last info they gave me is that I need to go with them and cancel my WP on the last day of work that would be 31st of July and after go to Immigration Office to cancel my Non-B.

My questions are:

  • I have flight (out of Thailand) on the 1st of August at 11:40 am. After I cancel the visa I have to leave the country on the exact same day or I have 24-hour window to leave?
  • Is that how the all process should be? I am leaving Thailand because I get a job offer in another country so I am not changing jobs within the country.

I would really appreciate if someone can help me with this, because unfortunately the HR of my school are very unexperienced and insecure in the info they give me.

Thank you in advance and I am sorry if this subject was discuss in previous topics (I couldn't find it).

Cheers

The cancellation of your extension is based upon the date on a termination letter from the school. Ask them to date it after August 1st. Then go to immigration and they will post date the cancellation to the date on the letter.

You don't have to go to immigration to cancel your extension. You can just leave the country at an airport without a problem.
