XGM
Where would go for furniture if you don't want to pay Index prices? I'm talking just standard wardrobe, desks, shelves. HomePro? where else?

trainman34014
Lamphun has a lot of furniture warehouses just off the main drag to Lampang/Bangkok. Decent prices and free delivery to almost anywhere around Chiang Mai.
naboo
Baan Ma east of Lamphun for compressed wood and soft wood items. Baan Tawai east of Hang Dong for hard wood at higher prices. Both places have many different factories, delivery usually free or a couple of hundred baht depending on how much you buy.
