I don't doubt that, however, many people are of the opinion that these actions put actual citizens at risk and in many cases have done so. Santuary cities appear to put the safety and well-being of illegal aliens over that of their own citizens. And therein lies the problem.

Many people were of the opinion that slavery was the normal way of obtaining labor, many people are of the opinion that evolution should not be taught in schools, many people are of the opinion that Hillary should be president; however, opinions are not always the way things are.

Not disagreeing with all your points, but millions of people would also agree with shipping all black people off to Africa.  (Having lived and traveled extensively in the south, I've personally met thousands of 'em)  That doesn't make it good policy, or legal under the constitution.

Lol... well unlike that idea, Trump did not make it one of the issue of his campaign. Like it or not, one of the reasons he was elected was to end sanctuary cities. It is not a new sudden development that's come out of nowhere or for no reason. The spontaneous outbursts and meltdown of the Dem/Left every time Trump puts into motion something he said he was going to do 1-2 years ago is amusing. The anti Trumpers can count their small victories in the liberal judge shopped courts, but ultimately the Supreme Court will rule on it. Until then there is no point to get all worked up about it. Perhaps Trump is saving the Africa idea for his next campaign?  :-P

Again, we're not so far apart on a lot of these issues.

But everyone that has a stand on one side of any issue will claim that theirs is one of the issues that got the guy elected.

I contend that Trump got elected purely as a protest against the Repub old boys network and HRC, and not as a mandate on any particular issues at all.  Except "Making America Great Again".  Which is more of an election year sound bite than an issue.  If they voted him in on that one, they've got to be really disappointed by now.

As I recall, Bush Jr declared his minuscule election victory a mandate to stay the course in Iraq.   Millions supported him (though I don't think a majority, but?) And look how much blood and treasure that's costing us.  And it's frightening that he almost took us into Iran on that "mandate" of the electorate, too.

Personally I think everyone should have to carry ID and show it to a policeman if asked. Ask my fellow conservatives if there should be such a requirement or a National ID card they will go absolutely "bat-<deleted>" crazy. Should a child of aliens who snuck in be granted citizenship just because it popped out of the womb on the North side of the border? Do the social democracies that liberals idolize provide free public school education for illegal aliens? (Not resettled refugees and immigrants and children of visa holders but actual illegal aliens!). The American constitution is very unique in several ways some very outdated in 2017 problem is to enforce some more common sense will require changes to avoid law enforcement  being applied in a discriminatory way that is the problem with the sanctuary city movement.

That is shocking.

That's something I've not read.

Who is doing this?

Who is "promoting and aiding illegals to commit crimes."?

Perhaps the Russians that Jr met are illegal?

If you don't like the laws as they exist, how about proper legislation to change them... See that's a challenge as we all know from the healthcare fiasco.

It's nice to know that judges and local authorities "feel" that what they are doing supersedes the law. So they cock-block others, ignore the spirit of the law and go home at night feeling smug and put their consciences to bed.  Probably after counting their salary, benefits and how many days they have until a cushy retirement.

You mean like the Congress & Senators?

What is it with this administration that does not appear to have at least one competent intelligent lawyer that can write a LEGAL executive order ?

This is exactly what you get when you pack your administration with ideologues and not  competency
