In-out-in on 30 day Visas ?

Featured Replies

My Daughter is coming over to Thailand and I want to take her to Angkor Wat. Flying from Don Muang to Siem Reap. Will she get any problems from Thai immigration going out on a 30 day and coming back in the next day on a new 30 day?

I assume your daughter's previous time in Thailand has been limited. If so, there should be no problem, except that a single day in Siem Reap is scarcely enough to do even the major sites justice. Three full days is what I would aim for.

She hasn't been over for a couple of years, Thanks for the advice will prolong the stay in that case

As i understand it 30 day exempt is only limited to 2 if land crossing. By air no problem

As stated though i would give yourself more time at Siem Reap we did 3 days that was just about enough for us. I also took daughter in the same circumstances as you she had had enough after 5 hrs lol.

Yeah, I think I'm going to be the only one who's interested in it. Have Mrs, 2 teenage kids and Daughter 26 coming with me be a bit of "Bovvered" for them probably.

There's always one

Angkor is by no means the only thing to see in Siem Reap.  I haven't been since the hordes began overrunning the place the last couple of years, but touring the many other temple sites was enjoyable, and they might not be quite as crowded as Angkor.

Unsurprisingly the hotel we are staying in organizes tours. So I'll have a go at Angkor Wat on the first morning and if it's rammed with Chinese tourists I'll take your advice on the second day. Had a nightmare experience with them at the Shaolin Temple when I was working in China .Dozens of groups of hundred or more running about following a guide with a whistle and umbrella. They totally ruined it

The major sights tend to be overrun with tour groups at certain times of day, and relatively less crowded at other times. Although this may mean missing a famous sunrise or sunset, I would suggest enquiring about quieter times and exploiting them.
