income letter from the US Embassy

Featured Replies

This letter or application  affirming a monthly income from my US embassy in Thailand, which is requested by the immigration bureau 1 .One of the statements asks me to affirm my Thailand residency location..

Since I don't reside in Thailand and I need this letter to affirm that I make such and such, which allows me to meet the income requirement  for marriage. What shall I fill the blank in with?  I affirm that I reside at_______ ______________________.

                                                                                                                              local address in Thailand

You put your address here in Thailand. Done it 10 times already without a problem.

If does not mean you have to be a resident of Thailand.

The income letter is for extensions of stay - not for marriage but for extension of stay in Thailand so you need a Thai address (which should be the same as your Thai spouse)

They check nothing on that form and nothing is cross referenced with anything at Thai immigration.

Put down the address you are staying should be fine.

Actually that form is very closely checked and everything on it is cross-checked.  My last experience was in June this year and had to manually fill out form to new requirements as Embassy is well aware that it is being closely checked and indeed extension officer closely checked every entry on form to information on computer screen.

Sure they are checking your history/verifying your passport and probably checking to see if you are a wanted criminal.

But on the income then lets say for USA? The US embassy has immediate access to the IRS or bank system to verify?

He was writing about immigration in reply to your post stating they do not check anything on the affidavit.

OK got it.  I was referring to the income part and address.  I have never heard of them checking those to verify but could be wrong.

They might compare the address to the one on the extension application form. They would check the income meets the minimum requirements.
