July 29, 20178 yr Floods hurt over 22,000 families in Nakhon Ratchasima By The Nation More than 22,000 families in nine districts in Nakhon Ratchasima have been affected by floods caused by torrential rains unleashed by storm Sonca from Wednesday to Saturday, a senior official said. Suthep Ruenthawil, chief of Nakhon Ratchasima Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office, said the floods affected the nine districts of Thepharak, Chumpuag, Sida, Bualai, Kaeng Sanam Nang, None Daeng, Dan Khunthod, Bua Yai and Pratai. He said the floods inundated 45,442 rai (7271 hectares) of farmland, four fishponds, 69 roads, and three factories. The floods also damaged five bridges, one rice silo, four irrigation dykes and eight flood embankments. He said 22,122 families in 391 villages and nine communities in 45 tambon of the nine districts were affected.
