Getting to school

Featured Replies

16year old. Ĺeaving village school to attend next age level school based in city a distance of approx 30k.

This is us by the way.

Parents work Mr can drive Mrs cant.

So at 15years of age we took him to get his M/C licence all done passed and has Licence.

You constantly read on here people decrying kids going to school on bikes. Then in the next thread "I wouldnt put my kid on a bus thats jam packed with them hanging on the back.

So prey tell how would you get your child to the school and back again.

Given our circumstances?

Our decision is M/C by the way.

Scooter or M/C ?

Important to lay down the rules as you know with teenagers:

No horseplay on Bike

No more than 1 properly placed passenger

EVERYONE WEARS A HELMET EVERY TIME !!!!!

Stop when it rains and wait for the road to dry.

etc etc.

You should also ride with him occasionally as a passenger to observe his driving habits....habits are hard to ditch and you will see right away how safe a driver he is.

Depends a bit on the kid, if the kid is the responsible kind then I see no problems. Just make sure he drives all right and wears a helmet. I drive m/c 's too I know they are dangerous but if you drive good you can avoid a lot of trouble.

I drove a m/c when I was 16 ok the roads were safer then in Thailand, but still it depends on the person driving.
