GLO cracks down on overpricing and illegal packaging ahead of new design roll out

BANGKOK, 9 August 2017 (NNT) – The Government Lottery Office (GLO) has prepared agents to carry out an inspection of sellers accused of packaging tickets, warning them that they will lose their sales permission if found out, and announcing that a new ticket design will be launched starting September.

GLO board member Lt Col Nhun Sansanakom and office spokesman Thanawat Polwichai traveled to Kok Wua Intersection to head up inspections of lottery ticket sellers and to hear feedback from them ahead of a meeting on government lottery legislation slated for September.

On the issue of overpriced tickets and packages, Thanawat said GLO agents are looking for violators who will lose their sales contracts and be banned from lottery sales for life. Vacancies on the GLO quota will be given to new vendors and it is expected that the issue should see significance progress in 6 months.

The office has also announced that a new ticket design for the lottery featuring safeguards against counterfeiting will be put out starting September.

Blah Blah Blah. Nothing ever happens, progress in 6 months, but new tickets in 1 month. Whatever.

When is the GLO going to stop this nonsense, and get the lottery modernized into the computer age.

Problem with over pricing/ greed solved over night.

All they need is to make the price of lottery tickets shown on the ticket itself.

They already do.
