Got chatting to one the other night parked at Hooters, Soi 4 across from Nana.  Many African ladies of the night there, the one in question from Uganda and seemed quite happy with her lot and was simply here for the dosh and under her own free will.  Can't see the big deal.

The main difference, at this stage of my life, between a Thai woman and an Australian women is that a Thai woman will be relatively upfront about the costs and will uphold her end of the bargain. While an Australian woman is full of feminism and entitlement. The cost will never be acknowledged, let alone be upfront and she will consider her side of the bargain to be "nothing" because expecting something in return would be "Sexist". If I had money and power, absolutely no frigging way would I pick an Australian woman.Don't knock Thailand. It's strange that they leave the low hanging fruit in the Nana area unpicked on a daily basis.  A stroll around there any evening results in solicitation by several foreign street walkers, mainly of African appearance.  There are also many foreign street drug pushers apparently operating in that area, not to mention the Thai sellers of counterfeit goods, including illegally imported ED medications similar to Viagra, Cialis etc.  The Lumpini police could roll them all up every night and it would rapidly be unviable for them to operate there.  But they choose to leave things as they are.

Going back to the early 80s The Grace Hotel had already become famous as a hang out for Arab tourists and Thai hookers (usually overweight ones) specialising in the Middle Eastern trade.   The middle eastern restaurants started springing up at that time too.

 

The ex-Soviet republic women started coming in after the collapse of the Iron Curtain in the early 90s but, as you say, in limited numbers.  Since many are ethnic Russian and Caucasian prostitutes are of interest to Thai and Asian customers, who wouldn't otherwise have the chance to go with a farang woman, they have other marketing channels to sell themselves including online.

On another thread you posted that you know several Thai police officers, and commented on their opinions that they expressed to you. Inferring a degree of communication if not friendship. Now you state the Thai cops "hate you with a passion", presumably referring to innocent white men.

I know quite a few police ranging from senior sergeant majors up to Lt. Colonel, provincial, tourist, and computer crime officers. A varied mix. None of them hate anyone or exhibit the racial prejudice often seen on this forum. I have come across one or two who clearly don't like foreigners, but that is the exception rather than the rule.

I'm afraid you are wrong. Having an Australian passport proves that one is indeed an Australian citizen, even though one is born overseas. Unfortunately, this bloke is not of "good character" and others like him are a minority.
