Many young snakes about at the moment?

Featured Replies

Yesterday a.m. there was a young speckled brownish snake under a mat on the patio, and today a young golden tree snake (or at least I think it was a golden tree snake) on a window - indoors....

I'm fairly used to seeing snakes - but two young snakes (sheltering?) close to/in the house, has set me wondering.

I think the breeding season is around June - but are they sheltering around the house as the weather is so 'cold'/rainy?

Well there was a pit viper in my garden this morning, quite a young one.  Fortunately it is now a headless one.

How do you know it was a pit viper - or did you just assume this to be the case and not encourage it to bugger off elsewhere?

I recognised it as a pit viper . I never encourage any snake to bugger off, although some posters I wish would. If I have the chance I kill any snake.

There are times when I wish I'd never started a topic that could only encourage the stupid amongst us (naming no names obviously) a reason to display their ignorance .
