August 20, 20178 yr I recently read, that there is a visa for studying buddhism in thailand, sounding like an educational visa. does anyone have experiences with this type of visa? I always have been interested in buddhism and wouldnt have a problem to sit with monks and listen to some teachings, as i would call buddhism my first religion (im officially a christian on a german passport). What are the requirements for this visa? Is it worth considering it for staying in thailand compared to the educational visa for learning thai?
August 20, 20178 yr Author http://www.thaiembassy.org/helsinki/en/customize/28161-Non-Immigrant-Visa-Type just found these information. Sounds pretty simple to me.
August 20, 20178 yr Those are the requirements to get a non-r visa which would be a single entry visa. Beyond that you need to get an extension to stay longer than the 90 days the visa will allow. I think you will find that you would be expected to live at a temple to the get the paperwork needed.
August 20, 20178 yr Author Thanks for the reply - i was reading that either you are at a temple or you study about buddhism at one of the public universities. Therefore it sounded to me like an ED Visa for learning thai, only that you learn about buddhism.
