In BKK on the local market a kg of jasmin costs around 40 baht....so if the farmer got 5 baht the money is made elsewhere. But if the farmers can't/won't even bring the rice to BKK themselves to get a better price they shouldn't complain. We have had this discussion over and over again, after all they don't have to be farmers.
