The Khon Kaen public prosecutor on Tuesday (Aug 22) formally indicted five suspects allegedly involved in the murder of a karaoke bargirl and cutting up her body to facilitate burial in order to conceal their crime.

Charges of pre-meditated murder, removal of the body to cover up crime, theft, illegal detention and carrying arms in public were filed by the prosecutor against Ms Preeyanut “Preaw” Nonwangchai, 24, Ms Kavita “Earn” Ratchada, 25, Ms Apiwan “Jae” Sattayabandhit and Mr Wasin Namprom.

Ms Apiwan was also charged with illegal possession of illicit drug while Ms Jidarat “Benz” Promkhun, 21, was only charged with theft.

Four indicted on murder charges for Khon Kaen dismemberment

By The Nation

All five suspects in a high-profile dismemberment murder case were indicted for trial

Priyanuch Nonwangchai, Kawita Rachada, Apiwan Satayabundit and Wasin Namprom were arraigned on charges of pre-meditated murder; colluding to destroy, move and hide their victim’s body; jointly detaining their victim; joint theft; and jointly carrying arms in public places.

Jidarat Promkhun has been charged only with alleged theft.

Jidarat was the first suspect to be arrested in relation to the gruesome murder of 22-year-old Warissara Klingjui, because she allegedly sold the victim’s mobile phone. Warissara’s body was found, cut into two pieces, in Khon Kaen province in July.

Police then traced all the other suspects, and Jidarat was the only one who was apparently not present at the murder scene.

Apiwan is the only suspect to face an additional charge of drug abuse because she tested positive to a substance upon arrest.

“We have already informed the Khon Kaen Provincial Court of the prosecution orders,” Khon Kaen’s chief prosecutor, Wichet Saenkham, said yesterday.

He said the prosecution orders were based on evidence and a review of the 706-page investigation report.

According to Wichet, all five defendants will probably be brought to court today to provide their statements. Their trials will start within the next 15 days.

By The Nation

Priyanuch Nonwangchai (L) and Jidarat Promkhun (R)

Five suspects linked to a highly publicised murder-dismemberment case were smiling as they turned up at Khon Kaen Provincial Court for their pre-trial court appearance on Wednesday.

Priyanuch Nonwangchai, Kawita Rachada, Apiwan Satayabundit, Wasin Namprom and Jidarat Promkhun were grinning as they greeted the lawyers who will represent them in the case.

All except Jidarat were arraigned on charges of pre-meditated murder; colluding to destroy, move and hide their victim’s body; jointly detaining their victim; joint theft; and jointly carrying arms in public places.

Jidarat has been charged only with theft because she was not present at the murder scene. But it is alleged that she helped other defendants sell the mobile phone of their alleged victim, Warissara Klingjui.

Warissara’s body was found, cut into two pieces, in Khon Kaen province in July.

Just a bunch of horrible, horrible <deleted>. And I include all the childish narcissists who got in a picture with them. Clearly no understanding of the severity of the case nor their responsibility to be professional and act like adults.
