Mountain run-off hits Prachin Buri village

Run-off from Khao Yai National Park flooded a village in Prachin Buri’s Prachantakham district early Tuesday morning.

 

Following overnight rain, the run-off hit Ban Koh Ta Moi in tambon Pho Ngam at about 1am, said Phaisal Siri-aroonpanya, chief of Tambon Pho Ngam Municipality’s Disaster Prevention Division.

 

Phaisal said the water was higher than one metre and some 20 houses were affected.

Behold, BTS to get more expensive in October

BANGKOK: -- From Oct. 1, it will cost you a few coins more to catch the BTS. The transportation company that runs the skytrain system has announced it will increase the fares by THB1-3 for the main Sukhumvit and Silom lines in exchange for more trains and a better ticketing system.

Phuket Governor orders widening of Bang Yai Canal to aid flood relief

PHUKET: After help was provided by the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) the floods that had affected several parts of Phuket started to subside. However, Phuket Governor Norraphat Plodthong has now ordered that Bang Yai Canal in Phuket Town be reconstructed to allow a higher volume of water to flow.

Citizens’ alert saves wounded gaur in Korat
