Re-entry stamp

Featured Replies

Hi everyone - i was just wanting to enquire - can i get a re-entry stamp at the airport (rather than going all the way out to the nightmare place of Chaeng Wattana) before i fly out to Australia  next week and comeback again in two weeks. I am currently on a marriage visa. Also when i come back in will i get an additional 60-days (or only 30-days) extension from the time I re-enter back into Thailand?

Any information you can provide would be great - many thanks

Yes. The desk is after security, before passport control, there are signs.

There are a couple of detailed threads in the Swampy forum.

But note, a re-entry permit only protects your existing stay, so you'll be stamped to whatever date you are stamped now.

IMPORTANT!

What visa do you have now?

Did you get it from an embassy outside Thailand? Is it single or multi-entry?

Do you have a visa (from an embassy) or an extension of stay (from immigration)?

i have an extension of stay until September 16th but i need to fly out next week and then come back in

i obtained both the non-immigrant visa and extension of stay from chaeng wattana

Ok, then you do need a re-entry permit, just ensuring you're doing the right thing.

Take passport photos, you may or may not need them (I always have a few in my carry on anyway).

There's (or was last time I used the desk) also a 100 Baht processing fee on top of the cost of the permit.

If you are going to be out of the country for 2 weeks you will not have much time to apply for a new extension. You will only be stamped into the country to the 16th when you enter the country.

Good point Joe, hopefully our OP's employer has the ducks in a row.

Here's the swampy thread, seems the processing fee is 200 Baht.

Why not save yourself potential grief by applying for a new marriage extension before your trip to Australia? This can be done at Chaengwattana up to 45 days before an existing permission of stay expires.

And, while you were at Chaengwattana, why not also apply for a re-entry permit for the 30-day "under consideration" period, which should cover the fortnight you plan to be away for?
