"In Person" Bkk-UK by Ship ; With Mountain Bicycle ; Good & Cheap ? Time ? Hassles ?

Hi Fellow Thaivisa.com Posters,

I am exploring if it is worthwhile traveling by Ship [ e.g. Cargo ] from Bangkok to UK or Ireland.

I hope to bring Mountain Bicycle in addition to normal "Stored Luggage" + "Carry-on Luggage" of international Air Flight to / from Thailand.

Already, I have certain factors to satisfy :

1.

Good experience ?

2.

Cheap ?

3.

Duration ?

4.

Red-Tape ?

I have an engineering trade [ with Certificate of Completion of Apprenticeship details to refer to ] ;

Thus, I wonder would that give me any extra options for such a ship voyage ?

Even to work as Cook on-board when in international waters ?

KLM / Air France are very blunt with saying that they demand extra fee for even foldup Bicycle in Case transported as Stored Luggage ;

Unfair if foldup Bicycle or dismantled Bicycle is in Case that fulfills Spec.s for normal Stored Luggage Case & the total kg is within the limit.

Thailand to Europe charge by KLM for bicycle is Euro 100 ; 1-Way only

Of course, I am -- almost -- like the vast majority of Air Flight passengers as described in the words of Michael O'Leary [ C.E.O ] of Ryan Air fame ;

"Air-flight passengers would sit on broken glass if they knew it meant a cheaper ticket." 8-)

Thai Airways are expensive methinketh.

Actually, if it is a air-flight, I prefer to go to Ireland.

Just on the subject of air-flight tickets a Falang that I know but am not able to contact until near future, hopefully, told me that there is some special company in Rama 4 -- perhaps near Klong Toey Market general area, Bangkok -- that are source for best value international air flight tickets.
