April 2, 201016 yr sad for me as ex Taranaki/Wellington but have lost faith in Hurricanes, patches of flair but simply not good enough this year. I'll go Crusaders by 13. Plus: Stormers, Bulls, Highlanders, Waratahs, Reds. After recent weeks this could be a highlight for the NZ teams - two should win! Loking at the overall points table I think the current top four will stay that way.

Loking at the overall points table I think the current top four will stay that way. ^ i tend to agree except for The Stormers the Stomers have made a huge improvement from last year, but they have played all their games in SA so far, and they start their out of country trip games from today, they will face in the coming weeks, The Blues, Chiefs, Reds, then back in SA for some tough teams, Crusaders, Sharks and The Bulls so my top 4 teams to make the semis are The Bulls will be tested as they are on the road as well, but they usually hold up well on the road, will probably go top of the table again The Crusaders have a few tough ones mixed in with a few easies so should make the semis The Waratahs have a similiar 2nd half to the season to The Crusaders the last spot is a toughie Reds or Chiefs probably Reds at the moment btw good prediction on 2 NZ teams to win this weekend Edited April 2, 201016 yr by Donnyboy
April 2, 201016 yr canes vs crusaders what game!! Pity Carter couldnt convert 26 all draw. both teams played at high pace, great to watch
April 2, 201016 yr update Force win 16-15 last sec drop goal against Stomers doesnt look good for the Stormers as they face The Blues, Chiefs, Reds on the road, The force would have been the easiest game i would think they will probably slip to mid table by the time they return to SA
April 2, 201016 yr My post #94: After recent weeks this could be a highlight for the NZ teams - two should win! Did I bring a curse down on them? The Hurricanes already had a v difficult task in making semis, must be out of contention now, and Crusaders needed the win these points vital for home semi. Donnyboy - Chiefs to me just don't have it this year, losing at home not the sign of a championship side, hate to back the Ozzies! but I'd go for Reds or maybe Brumbies. Just one NZ team, Crusaders. Waratahs can jump to 2nd with a win re Cheetahs. Watching Highlanders/Chiefs game tomorrow with a vsiiting H'landers fan - don't back either side just hope it's worth missing an afternoon on the beach.
April 3, 201016 yr the wheels could still fall off the Waratahs during the remaining games, they will no doubt beat the Cheetahs but have a few tough games after that; Crusaders, brumbies, highlanders, chiefs, & hurricanes lets see what happens after a couple more weeks
April 3, 201016 yr whey hey, my team The Blues take out the Bulls!! 32-17 I didnt pick that, especially with the Blues recent form Chiefs win over Highlanders 27-21 The Crusaders should be happy with the Blues win also so only 1 team from NZ lost this weekend, of the 5 that played

April 9, 201016 yr * update * Bulls take it 33-19 more importantly take 5 points (1 bonus) away from the game to top the table again
April 12, 201016 yr after 9 weeks of play the teams advancing to the semis have more or less secured their spots, the only one in doubt in my opinion is the Stormers (see post #95) we might see the Reds or Brumbies sneek in for the 4th spot here interesting to see all the Australian teams, apart from the Force in the top half of the table, and most of the NZ teams at mid table and below. South Africa are spread top to bottom. only 5 rounds left before the semis Edited April 12, 201016 yr by Donnyboy
April 15, 201016 yr Week 10 Friday, Apr 16 Chiefs vs Stormers Will be close, Stomers by 5 Brumbies vs Hurricanes Another close one, Brumbies by 5 Saturday, Apr 17 Blues vs Western Force Blues by 13 Crusaders vs Cheetahs Crusaders by 30 Reds vs Bulls another close one, Bulls by 5 (they could meet again in the semis) Lions vs Sharks Sharks by 15 BYE: WARATAHS / HIGHLANDERS this week we might see the Reds or the Brumbies make it into the top 4, Waratahs to fall to 5th/6th if the Reds & Brumbies win. Stomers need a win to stay up there. Dont see any other NZ teams apart from the Crusaders in it now.
April 16, 201016 yr might have to rethink the Stomers, they are making easy work of The Chiefs bonus points will be crucial now, as the the 4th spot could be between 3 teams
April 17, 201016 yr Blues lead Force 19-3 halftime the Blues are so patchy, they started so poorly only to run in 3 tries not long after also so inconsistant, after beating the Bulls they fell to the Stormers last week, now they turn it on against the Force.
April 18, 201016 yr a change in the top 4 at the end of this weekends games Crusaders share the lead and it looks like they might get a home semi The Bulls dropped the ball against the Reds who played well, and deserve to be in the top 4 as well Also impressed with the Stomers although i didnt back them earlier in the competition Waratahs still can strike back as they are 1 point from the 4th spot
April 22, 201016 yr what no rugby supporters out there now? Tigerfish you there mate? getting to the business end of the comp now Week 11 Friday, Apr 23 Chiefs vs Cheetahs Chiefs by 20, a nothing match really, just pride Reds vs Stormers interesting match up, can the Reds do it again again this week, i think so. Reds by 5 Western Force vs Crusaders Crusaders back at full strength should be too much Crusaders by 18 Saturday, Apr 24 Highlanders vs Hurricane who knows what will happen here, Hurricanes by 3, a nothing match really:( Waratahs vs Brumbies Tahs by 10 Bulls vs Lions should be a big scoreline but the Bulls had to travel Bulls by 15 Sharks vs Blues should be a close one, but Sharks have home advantage, Sharks by 7 we might see another change for the semi spots if the Reds lose and the Tahs win, bonus points will be crucial as well if the Tahs win, the Brumbies chances will slip away even more a sad state of affairs for NZ rugby, showed alot of promise early on but sadly most have fallen away. No great surprises where Henry will form the bulk of his All Black side from. Same for the Boks, will be a strong international side this year, and dont write off the Wallabies this year either.
April 29, 201016 yr i have a feeling im posting for myself now,lol at least there wont be any arguements! Week 12 Friday, Apr 30 Highlanders vs Waratahs , should be close, Tahs by 5 Stormers vs Crusaders another close one, Stormers by 1 Saturday, May 1 Hurricanes vs Chiefs Canes by 12, a nothing game really Brumbies vs Reds another close one Reds by 5 Cheetahs vs Blues Blues by 7 Lions vs Western Force Force by 10 Bulls vs Sharks Bulls by 15 A 3 way tie for 2nd spot will mean that a win & bonus point will be crucial, Stormers vs Crusaders should be a hum dinger, both teams will give it everything. The Tahs arent out of the race yet either, but i think the Brumbies may have let it slip. The Bulls look good for the first home semi, but the other is up for grabs now.
April 29, 201016 yr Sorry, Donny, I can't really get into the Super XIVs (or the NRL, for that matter). I'll watch the State fo Origin games, if I catch them on, but I don't go looking. The highlight on my calendar for next month is Arabian Gulf v Korea, complete with Joran v Lebanon. I'll not be able to make the game against Hong Kong, being back in Thailand at the time. And here, we get the Superleague and Challenge Cup, so I'll watch that, when I get the chance, and follow the Magners League scores on the internet. Not a lot of discussion on these boards on any of these topics... SC PS: Are you going to New Delhi to watch Thailand in June? Edited April 29, 201016 yr by StreetCowboy
April 30, 201016 yr theres not much NRL available to view in Thailand, i think only via Aus Network but i dont think they cover all the games anyway I dont follow any asian 5N games, so dont know much about it
May 2, 201016 yr nah, i missed a few this weekend and didnt score enough points in my Jimumgo super 14 game im currently 22,518 out of 108,499. Still not a bad effort i guess. I ranked as high as 8,000 something last year Jimungo will have the Fifa WC comp as well, so should be fun Goldmine, you should post some comments/picks so its not all me cheers
May 2, 201016 yr theres not much NRL available to view in Thailand, i think only via Aus Networkbut i dont think they cover all the games anyway I dont follow any asian 5N games, so dont know much about it i saw a bit of the Japan/Korea game yest. Japan dominated. No doubt they will win the comp again?
May 2, 201016 yr Author im back donnyboy! sorry about that, had a little altercation. which earnt me an early 3 week songkran holiday. anyway, been keeping an eye out on the super 14. now its getting to the business end of the season who do you fancy to win it outright? saying that, now that the tri nations is coming up who do you fancy to take it. have any of your views changed on the strenghs and weaknesses of the sides taking part?
May 2, 201016 yr great to see ya back. All sorted then? you cant really go past the Bulls again this year, they are a very complete side but the Stormers are getting close to it, they will face off in week 14 (last round) that should probably be the final dress rehearsal. Im thinking The Bulls & the Stomers will get the home semis with the Reds & Crusaders having to travel. Its been a poor year in terms of NZ sides showing on the S14, SA & Aus look ok. But this form doesnt always translate to the international sides. Well im hoping As for the Trinations, probably the Boks again, Wallabies could pip the ABs for 2nd place as well, as I think The ABs might struggle at midfield and at lineout. It should be close thou. Some of our (NZ) kickers have been woeful this year, including Carters. The ABs will have a chance to do a Gland Slam at the end of the year, so should be something to look forward to
