Been Done Before?

Featured Replies

This may have been done before, but I thought it would be interesting for the Bedlam faithful. I saw in another thread that LBD was from Scotland, and that got me thinking. Could we have a thread detailing something like: where we are from, where we live, married or single, what we do for a living and anything else that we might think interesting?

Me

I'm from Dublin, Ireland.

I live in Liverpool UK.

I'm married for 17 years.

I'm a self-employed training consultant.

Mods, could this become a pinned thread?

Go on, tell us something about yourself!

Spent 4 years as an Apprentice Carpenter, then jacked it all in 6 months out of my time to sell insurance door to door...

that didnt work out as i was crap, within a month was working at a factory driving forklift trucks...

Following doing this and various other warehouse jobs i fell into an office job - and the life of the blue collar worker was installed into me.. no more for the manual work my hands took a more sensitive complexion..

I started my first I.T support job about 7 or 8 years ago, and have done varying roles within I.T since, I currently work for a large NHS Trust Hospital as a Network Analyst - maintaining all things wifi, lan, wan etc etc

I am a very happy person, not much seems to get me down (even this horrible windy rainy weather) and I have high hopes for the future - bring it on!

:D

I'm 40 years old, born and raised in Düren, Germany, and live in Thailand for ten years.

I have a beautiful, wonderful wife. We were married in October of 2004, and we have a 4 month old babe, Alexander. I did a smart thing and married a business women, who makes 4X more than me. If you are a musician, you need to do something smart like this, lol.

I love my hometown of Cleveland, and I cheer passionately for the Cleveland Browns (football), Indians (baseball) and Cavs (Basketball), even though I don't really like hte sports all that much. But it is a strong connection with home, and it reminds me of the good things in the US.

I love to take care of my house, even though I seem to be the only one in my mooban who does this.

I love nature, campnig, movies, reading books ( GO HARRY, PLEASE DONT DIE! ), etc. I like a beer and a board game with friends.

I like TV, and I like to contribute when I can.

I would like to sell the ###### condo that my wife has has for several years, but its small and nobody seems interested.

I like meatloaf, and spagetti and meatballs. I shop at Foodland because I hate the small of places like Big C and Lotus.

I love my family and I know I will die a happy man, because I found my soulmate, and have a beautiful child that will carry on after I'm gone.

Geddoutofit!?!?!? :D

Me and you were both born on the same day, Soph! I'm 27 next Monday duai. Er... what time were you born?

There also seems to be a bit of a Merseyside connection on this thread that I can also join in. I was born over the water on the Wirral, which makes me dead posh like.

I moved to Thailand when I was 21, working here in Bangkok as a software engineer for a company that sells satellite airtime.

I'm getting married next month to my girlfriend of nearly 4 years and although nervous, I am looking forward to it :D

Bit of a musician as a hobbie - own two synths, a sequencer and a pair of turntables. I've got a regular once or twice a month gig DJ'ing in a club in BKK, but don't really want to push it beyond that - got a daytime job that pays well enough.

And I like being on the plonk.

Wahey! I just turned 27 in december!

Merseyside, well, ermm... I like the Beatles?

Awight! More normal answer Sueghs...

Turned 27 last december.

Although I performed reasonably well academically and in school activities (sports/theatre), I also performed outrageously well in bed, and at parties, hence I got kicked out of three schools before kicking schools out of my life at 16 and 2 months.

I had already been working part time, and turned this into full time, a myriad of Bars/hotels (different functions)/double glazing/clothing store/VDO rental store/musician/Venue Photographer (venue with many celebrities)/porn movie (one scene)/Office Manager for an ad agency/Beach resort management/Entertainment venue & bar management.

These jobs (and probably some more) have taken place in My native England (Cambridge/London), my other Native, Holland (amsterdam), as well as Brussels, Nice, Monte-Carlo, Edinburgh, Kanchanaburi, Koh CHang, and Lake Atitlan, Guatemala.

Always a fond drinker, I became a heavy drinker age 23/24 ish, when i had and lost a "wife" and baby, whereupon I moved to Kanchanburi and became a DRUNK.

As I was progressing from Drunk to Alcoholic, I just cut that right down over the past few months, having decided it might be better to do something with my life before I loose all my hair.

I am typing this from a commuter town called Guaragon (or something) south of New Delhi.

I'm not at all sure how I got here.

I'm equally sure where I'm going.

:D

Wisey bought a flat just outside London 14ths ago & is selling in a couple of months at a 33k profit. Should build us a decent enough shack in Issan & some left over to put towards another place in London too :D Was all part of the master plan of moving back here so glad it's working out. Things rarely don't go myway though as I can control fate with the power of my mind & will power :D My husband now beleives that I do in fact, know everything about everything, as have been telling him for past 6 years :o

Plan on moving back to LOS in the next few years to be a full time mum & housewife.

I am from the best country in the world, gods own holiday destination and I live in an asylum at the top of the mountain and I like cold days as it blows up my jammies and I freeball.

We have been married for 3 or 4 years (I love my wife's way, she cannot remember our anniversary, or the year we got married) we have two girls, one is 3 years and one is about 8 months.

I guess there is every chance we have been married 4 or 5 years, who can count up that far? (Ciggie in one hand and a beer in the other)

My MIL and my wife and my two kiddly winks are here in Korea.

Mulla Bulla mate, we used heli muster whilst us ringers were on horseback. Dry camps too.

Mulla Bulla pretty much surrounded Halls Creek. You know it?

Yes, but never worked there. We used Slingsby from Kunnunnurra on Ord, I then graduated from horse to Heli myself, more fun and home at night where not so dry lol.

Are you two speaking some new foreign language here?

Yes, but never worked there. We used Slingsby from Kunnunnurra on Ord, I then graduated from horse to Heli myself, more fun and home at night where not so dry lol.

Our pilot was a bloke by the name of Macca (believe it or not), we used to spend a month or two out at camp before returning to the homestead, big pissup then let me tell you. We used to ride bicycles the 40k trip into town just to buy a beer for someone better looking than cookie (cookie was married to one of the ringers mind you). On our horse by 4am, still on it at 7/8pm, it is a hard life.

Funny fact, the owner/manager of Mulla Bulla was a guy by the name of Dick North.
