The land where hot and cold collide, tempers and patience, selfish and selfless struggle for domination. A land of contradictions and yes sir, yes sir I'll have another chai as I wait for any result of anything. After a wee two weeks here I've gone done nothing much. It strikes me as a good land in which to procrastinate. Oh, but I've had five teeth on the right side re-constructed and/or filled, and three implants - titanium rods - impaled into my front upper jaw bone which will function as anchors for new front teeth, a few months down the line. There was rather a lot of blood on that one and i've currently got about 12 stitches where my front teeth once were. Seems to be healing well though.

More spicey, less spicey, sweeter etc. never tried Punjabi food Caveat- this is NOT a last word post as i am asking for a response So i guess i'm slightly off topic I dunno.. difference compared to what? It's pretty spicy... Mostly rice and lentil based, though adorned with chicken, or lamb, apparently fairly similar to pakistani food, I hear. herbs a plentiful, and usually eaten with a variety of differetn forms of doughy type Fajito's (forgive me for I have just come from central america and don't know the local lingo yet :ph34r ) which can be plain, or deep fried, or even prepared like a omelette (with spices and herbs in them) and are used to scoop up the food. Yoghurt plays a fair part in the meals too. I eat as in LOS. Everything piled ontop of the rice, then either scoop it up with a spoon, or with the "bread". And I've put on about 4 KG's in 2 weeks !!!

January 25, 200719 yr Around 2 1/2 years ago my motocy- got side swiped by a drunken thai and I broke my jaw in 5 places and lost several teeth. Took me a while to heal, and then a longer while to muster up the courage to get the implants to start replacing the teeth.

January 25, 200719 yr Well, standard dental stuff about two weeks total (one week down, the other coming i first week week of february. the major thing: Got three Implants done last Saturday, the gum should finish healing with 10 days total. The implants are literally mpaled into the jaw bone, so about a month/ a month 1/2 to verify the bone is re-growing around the titanium (should do, I've got a titanium plate in my chin from same accident) I leave here around mid to late february, if I leave (i think I will) Then... About six months for the bone to completely finish repairing itself around the implants (obviously providing it hasn't rejected the implants) Then I come back here to get little porcelain Teef screwed onto the implants. Then I smile!

I'm not a god fearing man. I'm a dentist fearing one. But it's a bloody relief to be doing it now. I was shaking in the dentist chair before having the implants done, and I felt like i understood what Rape must feel like, after having all these low gage drills bore into my jaw/skull. Very violated. Cost, yeah major factor. In France/Europe the three Implants and fillings/restoration on another ten teeth would have set me (me dad actually) back nearly 12,000 EURO's (555,695 TB) . I'd thought about various alternative destinations to get it done in, but ultimately, my brother's being here made up my mind for me. Here in India, all of that for 2,500 EUR (110,800 TB) , including a return flight BA London-Delhi and five weeks here (at my brothers). No Brainer really. Edited January 26, 200719 yr by kayo
