phormio Posted May 16, 2007 Share Posted May 16, 2007 My wife works on the 28th floor just North Of Central Ladphrao on Phayonyothin. Got so shaky that they evacuated. Its a new building so maybe they were being extra careful. On the other hand my domestic servants on the 12th floor near Ekamai and Rama 9 didn't feel a thing. (I just returned home) Anyone know about construction standards in Thailand? (The building in which I live is about 30 floors and was constructed about 10 years ago). Duration about 20 seconds, caused house to shake and water in pails to form small waves on top. No damage, though. My first earthquake experience. Gave me kind of a woozy feeling. This was for sure the biggest quake I ever felt in Chiang Mai. Also different from all the small tremors I felt before it which were very short up-down things, IF I felt them at all.
