Problem is that all of a sudden after some time, i can't connect on the browser. utorrent however continues to download stuff. a restart on the router solves the problem. any idea whats happening or how to fix it? i have the same router in the office and its never done this before. only on rare occasions, a restart is needed.

Sorry, but a little bit more infos could help to figure what's wrong.

Router model, router IP, settings, modem type ... ?

I have myself a Belkin Wireless G Plus MIMO router and never had any problem.

Overload. Many routers have a problem with too many connections being open for downloading programs. If you Google you may find newer software or recommendation on max number of connections to allow. Or just clear the system when it locks up. There does not seem to be any exact science to fix it if you want to continue p2p downloading.

Especialy torrents have the nasty habit of opening many connections, therefore indeed causing the router to overload, sometimes also with regard to memory usage. Go to the belkin site and find the apropriate firmware and update that firmware, it might solve your issue.
