I appreciate your and Dr. concerns, I also have concerns which is the reason after all these years come up with my own system as indicated a few of you feel it is a misguided method my opinion for you who truly believe in the system I feel that is naive and misguided in my world it doesn't happen they way it is written especially here in Thailand. Dr. feels my money is locked I don't feel that way! at all I feel your money is locked even if you have a Will keeping 800,000 in only your name, what if you were to drop dead, what would happen if one got sick and needed to use some of that money? I sure everyone feels they have it covered, a Will, a friend, it only works whatever method one set up is when it actually happens. My decision is based just on that, I seen guys with a Will and Trust, drawn up by lawyers when they need to execute the decision is not based on their own law but to the person running the office, a great example when one goes into Immigration like a box of chocalate one never knows we talk about it everyday here on the forum. I seen first hand, a guy Thai wife dies he did and had all the right things done on paper but couldn't execute, had to travel a day back to their village, hired another lawyer, etc etc,, when that was done came back try to execute at the Land office, had to hire another lawyer, same with bank, in the States, you have the Will and Trust, Death Certificate, whatever you need is done here clerks, managers seem to control everything the excuse I always gets is " policy has changed " but you go to another and it is different. To me policy is policy end of story! So, based on my writing a few feels my joint account is nothing but that, but I've had it for years and TESTED it a number of times since it was opened. I had my wife walked in fill out a withdraw slip and took out large amounts she never has had a single problem a single question. All done while I was sitting in the waiting area with the deposit slip for the same amount as soon as she shows and passes the money to me. Did I or my wife have concerns prior yes but even now she doesn't any longer, as I noted I have also a ATM card, showed her how to take it out. Yea, I have concerns like everyone about Thais, but I feel if any women can stay with me for over 20 years, deserves my assets LOL! If those with concerns try to comprehend and not just say it is my choice then say something else contrary to that statement. I wouldn't have a problem needing to use the Bank method if it wasn't for the Embassy no longer issuing income letters because of a number of problems, others residents of other countries whining about the income not be verified, then the Joke of a cop who actually try to shake down certain Embassy for a cut. This is my belief, for the U.S. Embassy all one had to do was go into their website and look at their appointment calendar, 90% of the time slots were for these so call income letter, the Embassy was raking in millions of baht each month. Whether one thinks it was right or wrong all it did was rob Peter to pay Paul, which are the agents. So I started the 800,000 baht but as I get older and watching those around me drop like flies it is time to go to plan B, one has to put their trust in someone and it isn't going to be a Fing Thai Lawyer even a Farang one using a Nominee to open their practice. I have greater faith in a family member back home to do what is right. I see no problem as to what I've done and been doing for the last ten years with my bank account but as I noted, it is time to free up the money and maybe use agent money for my extension 15,000 is a dropped in the bucket for me each year my concern not doing it yets is the constant changes, today one can't use BB, one switches, a year ago when it hit the fan, they went to Krungthai, and month later it was the Green, today is Krungthai, Green, and Krungsiri, maybe after I close BB, they end up going back. So I'm just waiting now until things calm down to make the move. I have told my wife, if I die just go get the money it is no one business to know if I had died!
