Golly! Did you know you can hold annuities in your IRA account?
Annuities in general are quite complicated and there are a lot of options. I had incorrectly thought until now that you couldn't use funds in your IRA (trad or Roth) to buy annuities, but it turns out you can! There are different reasons people want annuities held in or out of IRAs and there are different types of annuities, and specific rules for holding in IRAs. I'm just learning about such matters myself. For me, an annuity might be attractive now as: -- a way to diversify my IRA which is now 100 percent equities as I think there will be a Trump crash once his policies (tariffs, mass deportations) kick in. I also don't believe he will bring peace to the world. More likely the opposite from China. -- The money in an annuity brings a fixed income for life without the risk of equities but with the risk of the soundness of the annuity. -- Annual payments from annuities (which may be deferred with some types of annuities) are taxable income. -- HOWEVER, the money you take to buy an annuity out of your IRA reduces the value of the IRA in terms of the RMD (required minimum withdrawal at about age 72-3). -- So for example if you have 500K in your IRA and you buy a 200K annuity the RMD will be based on 300K, not 500K -- There are age rules for buying annuities in IRAs -- Overall if you do want an annuity and your money is in an IRA, it's great to be able to buy from the IRA, as otherwise you would be forced to withdraw the amount of the annuity purchase from your IRA, a taxable event, so that would be crazy. I'm just scratching the surface here. I've never hired a financial advisor but this might be an area where that is worth doing (if you know you're getting a good one). The main reason I'm posting this is that I assume as I didn't know, there must be others who didn't know that you CAN buy annuities within IRAs. -

Waiting for Tears.
Don't fall for the propaganda. Did he actually say that? There's that special phrase again, that allows "journalists" to sneak in falsehoods and avoid accountability. Milley says America will 'be okay' under Trump, after reportedly saying he was 'fascist to the core' There's no record of him saying this, there's no video clip, there's no citation from a speech. But there's a "report" of some operative who claims to be familiar with a source who knows of someone who allegedly related an anecdote of the good general saying something to this effect. It's not a lie! Journalist didn't claim he said it, only references a hint of a rumor. Clever! -

Cheapest good weed now ? I found 350 thb/gram but not cheaper yet, any idea ?
Excellent summary of professional growing. Lighting plays a significant role in commercial growing. Here are details of lighting used at Pure Sunfarms grow facility in Canada where supplemental lighting is used during the darker months of the year. Using hybrid MH-HPS lighting system. Plants have a yield of 'X' gram (dry & manicured) per Watt light per m2 plant size. Some plants produce more & some less thus the 'X' number varies for different strains. https://pllight.com/projects/pure-sunfarms/ Chosen for their high uniformity and ability to penetrate light deep within the canopy, their Delta 3 greenhouse is installed with 1000W NXT2 luminaires with Beta Reflectors. In the flowering stages, the growers use HPS luminaires for their tried-and-true flowering spectrum, however, in the Vegetative and Mother stages, Pure Sunfarms use a hybrid MH-HPS configuration. Since natural daylight is limited in the winter months, and with long days required in both growth stages, supplemental lighting becomes the main source of photosynthetic light for the crops. By using a hybrid MH-HPS system, it provides a wider range of wavelengths for the plants to use so they can thrive and be more productive. In addition to the unique hybrid installation, they also use lighting strategies such as staggering the luminaires on and off, so that the transition mimics the natural light cycle at dusk and dawn throughout the year. Furthermore, the growers at Pure Sunfarms are always testing different lengths of photoperiods during flowering to ensure their plants get exactly the right amount of light they need to produce quality flower. -

Maxim Ride App Drivers
I think there is another aspect to this that hasn't been mentioned yet. I've discussed this situation -- accept, then cancel, or maybe not moving -- with drivers from Grab and LineMan. I expect similar applies to Maxim, but not sure. Every driver has told me the same thing: On their app (drivers' app) they do not see destination until after they accept the ride. Only then do they know where they are supposed to go. And that's the rub. Drivers going anywhere always think ahead to their next trip from there. If your ride request is to some out-of-the-way location, or at a time of high traffic jams, they don't want it. More income for them if they stay in an area with lots of passengers moving in all directions. Can't fault them for thinking like that. They have two options: cancel on their app, or not move and hope I cancel on my side. My solution to the problem: patience, lots of patience, and keep trying. Is there a better way? Well, yes I think there is: give drivers a big tip. Drivers rate us, just like we rate them. Giving a big tip gives you, the passenger, a good rating that shows up on their app. Drivers are more likely to accept and actually come to pick you up if you have a good rating. So, especially when going to out-of-the-way locations, I always tip very well. -

BREAKING NEWS British lawyer latest to fall in Laos alcohol poisoning tragedy
Golden Triangle. Th French using the Hmong to grow poppies. The Americans took over the business, the drug business from the French. Then in the 1970's the Israeli's Mossad, contacted the poppy growers in Thailand to "help" them to grow coffee instead. What a good cover! I am not a big fan of the Chinese, but need to remember the Sasson family and the Opium wars.- 1
