Everyone seems to have answers vacant of the questioning strategy.
Good evening Professor.
That was a deep post. Please give me a few days to work out its inner meaning.
But I have to go out now ............. my fridge is currently vacant of beer.
By the way, do you remember that Sex Pistol's song called Pretty Vacant? For some bizarre reason, it reminds me of you.
I remember it , it goes
"there's no point in asking , you'll get no reply " and so on

Have you considered the scenario where after you intellectualise your gf she becomes bored with you and then says you are shallow and manipulative .
Just head off to the local bookshop/library together .

Rolling Joe gave me the answer back in 86 in WintersGills bar on Great Western Road .
" You see son " sayeth Joe
" The answer is ... there is no answer ! "
"And now we're gonna play , whole lot of shackin goin on hahahahahahaaaaaggghhh"

I prefer rice over potatoes. I like my rice steamed or boiled and it goes with Thai food way better than the spud. Baked potatoes are healthy, but then they're usually loaded up with a bunch of unhealthy stuff. I try to stay away from fried foods as much as possible, and a lot of potatoes are fried in some manner or another.
I've always thought of rice as a subset of Thai food; a bit like saying "I think that some Thai food goes better with Thai food than does Western food.
Seems fair enough to me. I can't really imagine eating fried rice and chips. I can't really imagine eating chicken madras with a slice of sunblest pan loaf, either. Nor steak and saffron rice. Call me conservative, call me reactionary, but I prefer a consistent and coherent approach to menu generation.
I suppose it depends on what fillings you choose whether baked potatoes are loaded up with unhealthy stuff. Personally, I like them full of potato, but most people bake oversize and tasteless potatoes that need a good filling (can I say that on TV?) to overcome the tedium.
I supose the great thing about potatoes is you can have them so many different ways, which was probably the point of the OP's original comparison

I had a Phillipina gf once who used to make a nice Pat Kapow Moo on top of mash spuds .

I prefer to boil my eggs by holding them over a natural hot spring in a little net , just like Thai people do .

I am 40 and came to Asia when I was 22 . I have no regrets about leaving my home country although I have worked hard to be where I am. Retirement for me is a long way off . I have had some very interesting girlfiends over the years and many fond memories . I would recomend getting about a bit before settling down to retirement . If you have plenty of time and doe you should get over to Hong Kong , Japan and Korea . Asia has more than life under the cocnut tree .
Enjoy your retirement .

Mrs Onions buys and some times grows em . They mostly get put in the soup pot with a pork shank , tomatoes , carrots, onions and pumkin . This is the soup that our growing youngster requires .
Great soup for adding to sauces as a stock too .

I could laugh myself to death watching a demented circus clown.

Wow, your post really smacks of a seriously unwarranted superiority complex..
Labelling ordinary people who are struggling to earn a decent (albeit HONEST) living.."muppets"??
Sorry to say, but your judgements on these so-called "muppets", actually makes you the bigger muppet...when you really think about it.
Do you not sometimes consider yourself lucky that you yourself were not born into the life of a "muppet"?
Part of the master race are we?

You might be looking in the wrong plaice
I am floundering now.
I was a little afraid to beak up before, fearing I might cause a flap, but geese are very difficult to resuscitate by means of mouth-to-beak. Oh so I've heard.
Herd ? More like a running gaggle .

A Thai name? Really? Not necessary if born in Thailand, so why if born somewhere else?
When going through the process in Hong Kong the Officer said my son should have a Thai name as well as the name first chosen by my wife . So during the time it took we found a Thai name for him , something relating to the day he was born . The folks at the Hong Kong Royal Thai Consulate are the only ones who call him by that name . I didn't want to challenge them as to why it was nescessary . It might even come in handy one day .
-
Congatulations !
You should go to the Royal Thai Consulate nearest to you and get a birth certificate . Then you can apply for a Thai passport for your son . He will probably need a Thai name .
Happy days .

We've geese. Perhaps, they might pass pets. Or not. As we have no intentions of taking them in our pantry for future consumption considerations.
I'd save geese over canines anyday of the week.
Untraditional pets are less featured, therefore receive little attention and justified support.
The Save the Geese Foundation of Surin is demonstrating that domestic fowl can be satisfying companions.
SAVE THE GEESE today.
Good one Z , but no doubt there will be wild allegations flying around .

What's your favourite dog book ?
I like , "City" , by Clifford D Simak .
In this book dog's sit around camp fires and tell tales of the mythical or real humans who used to inhabit the earth before the age of the ants .

There is so much discussion about dogs today on TV . There is a wealth of information about who does what to em and where they go and how to help the poor lovely friendly muts .
My son has a wee dog and they are very happy together . I have some fish and they have their needs too . On occasion one will come over poorly float on its side and have a bit of a flap . I have found that fishing it out of the tank and then giving it mouth to mouth resucitation helps bring the fish around and back to normal fishlike activity . Does anyone out there know of a Thai fish resucitator . I have googled it to no avail .
