Re-entry permit: what's the logic behind it?
saakura replied to pub2022's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Let me make a small correction. For permanent residents, they flog it in a different way. As long as you do not leave Thailand, nothing is required, you can stay forever. But if you want to go out of Thailand for any reason, you have to purchase an 'exit permit' (dont know the official name). As they dont sell this at the airport and you may require to travel suddenly, most will buy a 12 month permit to leave & reenter multiple times. They do not sell this for longer duration, so the yearly pilgrimage to immigration office! -
Story Of My Thai Citizenship Application
saakura replied to dbrenn's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
No Sir, nothing at all. Just silence. And I am hoping that the recent change of Interior Minister does not push this on the back burner. In a few weeks, it will be a whole year since we had the big MOU committee interview. -

Report Thai Police Dismiss British Teen’s Drug Smuggling Claims
saakura replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
How naive! The police would have just extracted old CCTV footage from airport cameras after her story went viral. They were not following her around with vdo cameras secretly filming her. -
Fruit prices, what's the cheapest per kilogram in Pattaya
saakura replied to SAFETY FIRST's topic in Pattaya
Looking for the cheapest fruit? If you are on a budget, I have seen some shelves in Big-C where they sell fruit & other perishables at a deep discount. I think these may need to be thrown out in a day or two, but they look good to eat same day. -
Things thai people do that make no sense
saakura replied to angryguy's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
How would anyone know if ALL Thai women do this? From the few I have known, none of them had this habit. You seem to be an 'angryguy' -
Leaving the country when you are overstaying.
saakura replied to Bicio's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Keep a low profile and be careful when going from your friend's 'safehouse' to the airport. Get caught, you go monkey house. -

saakura replied to snoop1130's topic in Chiang Mai News
The article says that whenever it rains, he loves to ride nude with giant size dildoes. Every 3-4 days. -
Oh the hoops that some people must jump to be in Thailand.

He is "openly gay", has a girlfriend, and loves to ride giant dildoes! Which one of the characters LGBTQI etc does he represent? -
Video Drunk Driver Assaults Police Officer at Bangkok Station
saakura replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
Possible that he was a honest police officer who refused to take a bribe and this infuriated the drunk driver? 😁 -
I will ignore you now. This will be my first. 😝

Immigration American Man Arrested for 388-Day Overstay in Sri Sa Ket
saakura replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
Looked it up on Google, hardly a resort. More like long term cheap housing in some godforsaken corner of Thailand. -
Immigration American Man Arrested for 388-Day Overstay in Sri Sa Ket
saakura replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
Makes little sense why they waited 388 long days before reporting him. Hotels have a responsibility to check passport & visa status of customers and report to authorities. -
Report A Man's Decades-Long Search for His Thai Mother
saakura replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Sad for children to grow up like this. At least when they grew up to be adults, they should have been allowed to meet their mother and make their own decision. But the father may have been very badly betrayed by her and he genuinely had lost all touch with her. -
Report Push for Gender Recognition Law Following Same-Sex Marriage Milestone
saakura replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I read it again, it actually says LGBTQI+, so I presume the + indicates more categories will be added. -
Report Push for Gender Recognition Law Following Same-Sex Marriage Milestone
saakura replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I see that an "I" has been added and it is now LGBTQI. The list keeps getting longer. What category does the "I" represent?
