Tragic motorcycle collision kills two young men in Buriram province
retarius replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
Sorry, 2 kids on motorcycles racing in the rain.....not at all tragic in my book. -
Sorry not impressed with this fellow. Maybe with some time he'll wise up and do something, but the way he boasts leads me to think he'll be boasting about imaginary irrelevant successes; and the Ruch will get richer and the poor will get still poorer. Boasting about meeting people: meeting a contact is the first step of a thousand step dance to a deal. He's congratulating himself like the deal was signed already.

Faulty brakes lead to 14 vehicle pile up on Rama II Road, Bangkok
retarius replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
This country needs an annual inspection like Britain's MOT. I ask sick of sharing roads with old pick ups and lorries belching out black smoke, looking like they have never ever been washed and with faulty brakes. -
I made the mistake of changing from a Honda Click 125 up to the 160. My wife can no longer drive the bike because it is too heavy for her to handle. I can drive it, but find it a strain. What I cannot get used to is the initial very rapid acceleration which I think is dangerous. The one click did us for 125000 kms over 15 years. The new one is 6 months old and has about 1000km on the clock because it is so unpleasant to drive.

It needs to be at least 10% to raise the value of the baht, kill off inflation and ensure that only quality business ideas are funded. Really how many thousand cannabis shops, empty of customers, are there? Thousands upon thousands. Same with coffee shops, we must have 100 in our town with hardly anyone in them. Low interest rates are not good for growth because the encourage lending to people poor quality ideas like cannabis shops and coffee shops. This is misallocation of capital and therefore people with better ideas are squeezed out of the lending market by zombie businesses.

I have never done, nor can I imagine why one would want to. It sounds as though it could be used for criminal purposes, not that the OP would ever think of that. But I don't understand his reasoning. What would be the purpose of transferring funds between accounts in the same institution both of which you own.

Authorities Continue Crackdown on Foreigners Doing Restricted Jobs
retarius replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Why on earth can't foreigners obey the immigration rules? I obey them but why does every Tom, Dick and Harry think he doesn't have to a) have the money in the bank for a visa, b) is able to work without a visa and c) can do jobs reserved for Thais. When they caught caught they are full of self pity. Opening Go Fund Me pages and the like. Well my attitude is screw them, obey the rules or go home. You seem to think you are colonists from the 19th Century.- 29 replies

15 police officers at Kamnan Nok’s party to face charges
retarius replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Sounds good to me. No doubt if they are ever found guilty, after being out on bail during endless appeals, the penalty will be that they will be transferred. -
I don't trust Thai Airways. I haven't flown on them for many years now and don't intend to ever again. I wonder about their maintenance programs and whether they are rigorous. At my time of life, each is precious and I worry that a perennially close to bankrupt airline, will maintain their planes meticulously.

Former PM Thaksin Shinawatra to be eligible for parole next year
retarius replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Now nobody can complain about this, can they? -
Goos news, but how can the farmers borrow for next season's planting? Seeds, diesel, fertiliser, pesticide....these things don't come free? What fund? What Financial Discipline Act? It seems misnamed.

Probably a better reason than having a criminal lust for power like the current demented president.

Taekwondo Star Panipak Wins Gold at Asian Games

Yeah Panipack....well done, very well done. On top of the world. -
Well here's me thinking a horizon is a horizon is a horizon......but apparently no, there's a new horizon now. Maybe the horizon has moved further away that it used to be, or nearer than it used to be, or maybe it is on an angle now. Maybe it is me, but seriously what is this BS? It's a nonsense wrapping in a stupidity covered up with meaningless buzz words. If this is really the plan what hope is there? In my day, plans had actions clearly defined and metrics to measure them. Critical actions had peoples' names next to them to denote who was responsible for completing the action with a d ate by which they had to be completed. eg 'Household debt is too high and should be brought down'. Without saying how it is to be brought down, by whom and to what level and how it will be measured, this clown will be saying the same thing next year. Incompetence on a grand scale.
