I thought you have to serve 1/3 of your sentence to get parole. If his sentence is 1 year then he needs to serve 4 months, so he's got at least another 3 months in hospital to serve before he's paroled, by my reckoning.

I think it is idiocy. I tend to follow rules that I agree with. I tend to rebel against petty and stupid rules and laws and break them when I can.

Thai men to enjoy maternity benefits on behalf of their wives
retarius replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The most holidays in the world and maternity leave on top. I'm really lazy and when I'm reincarnated I want to be a Thai man. -
It is obviously important to you scuba. But to me they can have any lighting they want as long as it is bright ands I can see. From your picture I think I'm a couple of decades at least older than you, and I like nice bright lights at night so I don't trip over things. It also acts as deterrent to the criminal element.

I oppose it as well, but that is no reason to ban it. It doesn't do any harm to non-smokers does it? -

Wouldn't it just be great if Kamnan Nok just spilled his guts. I mean spilled the beans, not committed suicide. Imagine what secrets this chap knows about politicians who have taken bribes from him to influence bidding. I just hope he doesn't turn the CC cameras off and commit suicide with a pair of socks.

Fire everybody, starting at the very top, and then start again. Get some advice from a proper police force as to what the duties of policemen actually are. Surprise, surprise they are not drinking tea in the station and collecting bribes; they are actually supposed to uphold the law. Then employ some citizens who will uphold the law.....simples. Oh and pay them enough so that bribes are uneccesary, and one final thing, if any cop is found to be corrupt, jail him immediately, cancel his employment and pay; none of this transfer business.

Online speculation grows over Kamnan Nok’s actual whereabouts
retarius replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
The doppelgänger sounds about right. But why not try and convict him of murder, then give him bail while he appeals so that he can run away. Don't under any circumstances take his passport of cancel it and don't take any of his liquid assets, as he will need them to set up in another country. Maybe he can team up at an F1 meeting with Boss....two cop killers, they have a lot in common.- 6 replies

Mat Best US Army 11X - Humorous Army Guy
retarius replied to jaywalker's topic in US & Canada Topics and Events
US are the world's warmongers. They are destroying peace on this planet. Just for a laugh, go and count up the number of wars Syria has started, Iraq has started, China has started or Russia has started and compare it to the number of wars of choice the US has started over the past 50 or 80 years you will find that the US has started more wars than all the others combined. Next take a look at and compare the atrocities committed by US troops compared to other nations, nukes on civilians, Agent Orange on civilians, cluster bombs on civilians, depleted uranium on civilians, and yet they see fit to stand ups and moralise against other nations. Hypocrites. -
Birth rate plunge triggers health minister’s urgent action plan
retarius replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Make condoms really expensive and have free sex for farangs. That would solve the problem. The more I hear about declining populations the happier I am personally. There are way too many people for this poor earth to sustain, Klaus Schwab is correct on this, and it is time for people to stop having tens of children each in Africa. Don't have 10 kids and ask the west to bring them up for you with aid, or refugees status. Sounds a bit harsh, but it is reality unfortunately. The other thing is that people were until very recently living longer and longer lives, women especially. When pensions were brought in in the west most folk (men) popped their clogs at around 70 or so, so they collected 5 years of pension, now they die at 80 and collect 15 years of pension. It is BS. The pension age should go up with life expectancy and should be 5 years less than average life expectancy. Now before anyone points out that I have been a beneficiary of a pension for 15 years and I'm only 71 and hope to collect this pension for a good few years more. I'm lucky to have been born at the right time. But there is only so much younger people can give to support entitled old age pensioners. Now in Italy 100 workers support 40 pensioners, in the UK 100 working people support 32 pensioners; look forward to 2050 and those poor 100 workers will be supporting 74 and 47 pensioners respectively. We simply cannot afford and it is unethical to ask the younger generations to fork out more and more in taxes in the future, to pay for people who don't produce anything. It's a cast iron law and there is no escaping it. There is no amount of borrowing that will solve the problem. So wringing of hands or gnashing of teeth won't do any good. Hard decisions are in the future of the whole human race, and pensions are only one aspect of it. -
I'd like to see the details before I get too excited at this. I got all excited about the "medical insurance" scam and it turned out it didn't apply to non-0 retirement or marriage types. I have my US SS payments made over here to Bangkok Bank, worst comes to worst I may have to re-arrange that and have it paid into a UK or US bank..

Thailand urges US to restore GSP to give trade protection

There is huge problem with dropping the luxury tax. Suppose you are the proud owner of a Bentley or a Porsche and paid 30 million for the Bentley and 15 million for the Porsche, then the government drops the luxury tax and you can buy the Bentley for 8 million and the Porsche for 6. What is going to happen to resale prices of your expensive assets? The prices will drop like stones, and all of these owners are rich and influential. I doubt that the such a plan would pass. -
