  1. Poor Bob, without doubt the best poster on here, with the best avatar. I hope he has a long fruitful life.
  2. Probably because Thailand lacks any effective submarine deterrence. Approve the submarine purchase asap.
  3. Can this get round the mooted taxation of pensions?
  4. A senator who defied natural term limits and became a professional scrounger.
  5. It is a cast iron law of democratic capitalism. The greediest become rich, then those rich get richer and richer as they subvert capitalism too make governments their servants. 98% of of the profits from economic growth manage to make their way into the pockets of the super rich. Amazing isn't it, the company you own does really well from no competition government contacts and grows q100% a year and your workers get sweet FA. A sick joke.
  6. Well said. Too many idiots wanna be doctors putting 2 and 2 together and coming up with 56.
  7. Let's put it this way....there is a mountain 3 times as high as Everest and trust in the RTP is at the very peak of that mountain. Currently the RTP are below sea level. They have a long way to climb to earn trust. And real trust has to be earner, earner by doing the right thing day after day. Seem to me they need too hire Tom Criuse too do a Mission Impossible, cos it sure ain't gonna happen in the lame duck year of the new commissioner.
  8. I call BS on this. You have been influenced by the US to buy off the appalling reputation of your fisheries and slave labour. Ladyboys are common in Thailand and no one seems to remark them. They are everywhere, except perhaps Thai boardrooms.
  9. Jesus wept. Sue the bastards for billions of baht.
  10. Why not call on Vietnam who are or will be soon eating your lunch for FDI. How can you raise the minimum wage by 35% and expect US or other companies to invest here? Especially with plans for more massive rises here in the following years?
  11. 5 out of how many female teachers in Thailand?
  12. Oh get off your stupid high horse. Virtue signalling. We all went to schools with corporal punishment and I doubt that it did us much harm.
  13. Perhaps she is the child's mom and he, the little blighter is refusing to acknowledge her? Askin' for a friend.
  14. I expect by early January 2024 they will have a reasonably accurate growth forecast of around 0.8% or so. The forecasts here start out nice and robust looking like 6% in Jan; trimmed to 5.5% in Feb when the re is zero growth in Jan2024; trimmed again in March to 5% et al until next year. Why don't we fire these forecasters and save their salaries?
  15. If you have any friends in Thailand I would be inclined to send them the message from the woman and ask them to take it to the police, and ask them to arrest her for blackmail.
  16. I have a question for all you legal eagles. When I first came to LOS I went to CW for my first 'retirement' extension. Since then I have used my local office, which is the single most disorganised operation under the sun and takes hours, plus they change the system every couple of months so no one knows wirer to go and wait. It's pathetic. Anyway, I would like to go back to CW, if that is possible. Does anyone know if you have to use the office in the province you live in?
  17. I have mixed feelings about that mate, but enjoy getting hammered. It was my way of life for many years, and now what a joy waking up in the morning and actually remembering what I did last night is great fun.
  18. Two of the most corrupt organisations in the history of mankind.
  19. MY hat off to you Bob, you always bring up the most interesting topics. Maybe it's the sobriety, or is sobriety a thing of the past?
  20. This CEO seems to lack any economic nous at all. How does the government control the price of jet fuel which occupies about 40 to 50% of the expenses of an airline? Most of the rest of expenses are airplane leases (which the government doesn't control) and salaries for crew. If you cut the salaries for crew, you will end up with no crew. The guy needs firing.
  21. So it took 10 years to find him guilty? Justice delayed is justice denied: it acts both ways. 9years and he'll be out on bail tomorrow for another 10 years while the appeal is heard. Sickening. Large scale corruption is usually in the procurements department's. Why can we not have a special investigative team to investigate any procurement over 100,000 baht?
  22. I'm not sure I like this trickery in Government.
