There are so many around but dont go through agents is my advice as they bump the rate up, I know you said you didnt know Pattaya well but best thing to do is go around the areas you think you want to stay and you will see for rent signs and phone numbers etc, then go and look at a few first.

This is Thailand not England, if you expect English standards here then your thinking is out, I think a lot of people think as they are a customer they expect too much from Thai staff and think they are god when ordering things and get right shirty when they cannot get their point across, have the right attitude and you will get what you want, give them crap attitude and you will get the same back.

I stay in this area and I use Canterbury Tales Cafe & Bookshop, as an avid reader is a good place to exchange books, the full English breakfast is only 90baht and the wifi FREE to customers, just ask the lady behind the counter for a password.
It is just around the corner from soi Diana next to soi bauhkao by Oasis a go go

I have spent hours on Jomtien beach, pollution and litter, Rubbish, its a nice area and plenty of room, the climate alone is well worth being in Pattaya/Jomtien, what we Brits winge about is incredible.

Soi Bahkoa, soi Lenki, soi Chaiyapoon, all these and more.
-
Google Pattaya Auctions, some bargains at both of them,
-
A lot of Rubbish.........

This book is still available at Canterbury Tales Bookshop in Pattaya, the owner says he has 2 copies and he asks borrowers especially to return this book.

Come on you IRons

Jomtien beach is very nice, sun sea and sand, what are you expecting on a beach in Thailand, they test the water and is clean and free of disease, all the knockers feel free to go elsewhere.

Your in Thailand and the first thing you expect is Western standards, western service at Thai prices.............ermmmm

By the way DMax, your rent is ridiculous and the location will be the downfall IMO

I decided to stay on longer this Xmas and new year but my guest house was fully booked after my original check out date, I had a walk round and all the good to average places were full, I tried a few which were pretty poor so declined, tried the LK Metro Murphys law and those nearby were full, wouldn't go further as too noisy round by the Office and Champagne, great Go Go's by the way, ended up over 3rd road so all together not so bad.

it does happen as does the one where the staff buy a case or two of beer from the wholesaler and sell it to customers while the boss is away and keep the profit for them self, if you think they dont pour half your san mig into an empty and top it up with cheap draft then your blind, if you dont beleive it then do a looky looky behind some bars in walking street and you will see a few open bottle behind the counter.
Most however you will see them opening the bottle from the fridge, but some do that then switch it with one behind the counter.

Thanks for the heads up.

Sorry but its a myth that Farangs are blamed for just being in Thailand for accidents, I am sure Farangs have been blamed before unwittingly but its one of the stupid comments that I hear people say after another stupid person has told them.
I work closely with the Thai police and its rubbish, sure they are different in dealing with this issue but if a Thai is to blame then the Thai will be held responsible, getting compensation from a poor Thai national is another matter but if a Thai is to blame in 99% of cases then thats that.
Those who tell you the Police only stop Farangs and blame them for everything for being in the country is rubbish, its often said by people who just heard it from another fool.

The faster you go the more chance of having an accident in Thailand, why do you need more than 150 when a 125 is plenty, its your life I guess.

Was hoping for 3 points for the Hammers against Wolervs this weekend but after they beat the pool at Anfield am a bit worried now.

I enjoy the true crime stuff, many too many to mention but some really fascinating reading.

I read this book recently, I found it in Canterbury Tales Bookshop in Pattaya, its a rich written book and a real good read, I took it back as the 50% trade in suggests, it may still be there, well worth a read.

This is my favourite.
