yes agreed, after a couple of longish visits to Phuket then Pattaya will not bother with Phuket again, everything better than Phuket here in Pattaya maybe the Phuket beach is better but Jomtien beach is nice.

Beer, food, accommodation, girls, everything cheaper in Pattaya and I stay in the soi Baukoa (spelling) area and everything right on my doorstep.

Just bought these in Canterbury Tales Bookshop Pattaya, been after The Woman of Bangkok for yrs.

Its always 50/50 or there abouts, never all close, NEVER EVER

All Forums have thier share of Bull^*itters and people who talk crap and the 5 min experts, it keeps it light hearted for me, they are almost as funny as the guys who believe it all like reading the SUN newspaper, my favourite are the guys who say " I have lived in Thailand 20 years and go on to continually moan about everything, they have obviously forgotten what England is like these days.

I found this little gem recently, anyone want it when I have finished it.

I guess its all about choice but I have never had a bad meal in there and the Breakfasts are very popular,

I went into the Bondi shop near the beach at Jomtien and some good books in there also, an interesting spot for people watching as well.

I am an avid fan of Jimmy and have bought his book already from Canterbury Tales Bookshop, I will be there on the 20th for Jimmy's visit with my camcorder, I bought 5 raffle tickets for a chance to win a ticket to the hot shots opening night and got a free one with a book purchase so Jimmy bring it on.........

You should do your homework long before buying and asking questions on a forum, the first fail I would suggest that was your Lady pressuring you to buy it ? and the rent for that amount of rooms is too high.

A few places actually quite a few Bars try to use the commercial crap they use in UK to squeeze an extra $ out of you but for me xmas in Thailand is great as they dont do Christmas, a few fireworks over the new yr thats all thankfully.

To be fair this has been going on for yrs and I find it hard to believe people still use Jet Ski's, I guess not everyone reads the internet, as for bikes I guess is similar but never rent off dodgy looking Thai sharks, use foreign owned bike rental companies, I use one called mai Pang on 3rd road just past the fire station and you can deal direct with an English guy.

Compared to London its as safe as houses, many cynics say no, but really with common sense its a great place to be.

I spend a lot of time in Thailand, I have a house and often stay in town when I am on a night out which saves me driving home drunk.

Never had problems in 10 years and 6 yrs living here same.

I stay in this area (chaiyapoon) and although the girls try and coax you in the bars or Massage salons I have never heard or witnessed any pick pocketing going on there, there are a few Katoys along by Pooks on baohkoa that have been known to try it on the very drunk but not in Chaiyapoon.

Sure if you or they are in the wrong place at the wrong time and your excessively drunk then it matters not where you are, in the world in fact but thats life.

I am surprised people complain about small details like pot holes and such like, I tend to look at the big picture and compare say England to Thailand, 3 of the big issues for me are the climate in UK, the price of everything, the crap/bulls#*t/red tape, trading standards/do gooders/council tax/wheely bin inspectors/traffic wardens/tax man/government/ex wife/xmas/politics/immigrants/people in general.

Sorry thats more than 3 things but the weather here in Thailand is great, the food/people are great, should I mention the girls.................so guys look at the big picture and not a few puddles sometimes and a few pot holes, walk round them its easy.
