Did not check the posted date calculators but most of them do not count the first day which is required when figuring 90 day reports.
True but because you have the 14 before and 7 days after, you will with these tools get very close to the actual 90 day report date. And these are just handy tools and are of course not perfect.
Edit: // Added Ps
Ps: And instead of adding 90 Days just add 89 Days and you are completely safe

In addition to this, if you have Windows 7, the built in calculator is able to do date calculations

They mean to say that you must be in the UK to apply, they will in general not process applications from abroad.
Thx Mario, the word "residing" got me confused
-
How many attachments do you have there, how much free space etc etc
-
On the Hull consulate application form it says:
Visas applications are accepted only from persons who are residing in the UK at the time of application.
Are you saying that they only give visa's to UK Nationals or also to someone (cq Non UK citizen) who is applying while in the UK ?

Edit on last post didn't work.
I added that in case someone got the wrong idea and thought you could do the same from Thailand, ie send your doc's from here to UK to family and get the visa by them mailing from UK address..
The one thing they will pick up on is no exit stamp from Thailand.
You are correct, if OP was in Thailand while sending his passport I would have said "Dont do it as it will cause problems for sure and is illegal". But as you noticed this is not the case.

Seen this before but now it's back again

Just email the Thai Consulate in Hull and ask them, however it would be easier to send your passport by registered mail to family members in the UK and they send it to Hull and have your friends send it back to you in Europe, but expect this to take around 1-2 weeks, which is a long time to sit without a passport in a Foreign (European Country)

But when she applies for the Visa doesn't she have to let them (Embassy) know where she is going to stay ?
My Guess you better ask this question again in the "Visas and migration to other countries" subforum !
I would take it that the tour company/agent supplies the 'where staying list'
True, I'm now talking about Europe / Schengen and not about the UK as I don't know the rules there.
In Europe / Schengen when a Thai arrives they have to notify the police within 72 Hours of arriving. They will then get a piece of paper in their passport which on leaving they have to give back to Passport Control at the Airport. In the meantime her passports got get checked by Police, and it could raise some questions why that piece of paper isn't in her passport.
But again this is about Schengen / Europe and maybe this is something the UK isn't doing (wouldn't surprise me 1 bit) !!
I would still ask one of the mods to move this to "Visas and migration to other countries" subforum as the experts in Visas "life" there
Good Luck !
Ps: A friend of mine is taking his wife for a Holiday to the Netherlands and they also wanted to go and visit her sister in the UK. But after talking to the British Embassy and VFS and considering the costs for the Visa etc they decided not to pursue it.

Is this really worth your trouble and money for only 5 days ?? 2-3 weeks oke, but 5 days nahhhhh

My guess is that one Immigration Officer just thought "it's up to them to know when to do their 90 Day reports or not"<snip>
The best we could figure was that one immigration officer wanted a 90 report and the other one did not - local rules? Just saying, and it can't hurt.

OMG!
Does this mean I'll have to go out or watch TV for 3 whole hours???
TV will be down or do you mean TV ??

Hi All,
I am due in hospital for a major back operation and there is a very big chance that my stay in hospital will overrun my 90 day stay. As anyone been in or has knowledge of what I can do to avoid overstay charge?
AYou have 14 Days before the 90 Day report is due to do your reporting. Will that work ??
Edit: // Added Or
Or you can someone (you trust of course) do the 90 Day Report for you, you just sign the forms !

Ok Thank you.. I suppose Buriram is a province very close to the border so that is probably why..
My guess it would be the same for every Thai, I knew some people here in Pattaya and they go every 2-3 weeks to the Casino near Aranyaprathet / Poi Pet to gamble (for a day or 2), and they only use their ID Card.

What I have heard is that Thais can cross the border without a Passport, but can only stay within the same province and only for a limited amount of time. If they want for example to visit PP or Sihanoukville etc they need a Passport !
But this could have changed in the meantime !

If you have secured yourself the Tourist Visa this is the procedure you have to follow after you get of the plane
Step 1) - In the plane you will get a Arrival / Departure Card.
(important) On the arrival Card portion fill the part for the Visa No in with the number that is on your Visa
- After landing, head over to the immigration and hand over your passport and the Arrival/Departure Card
- The immigration officer will stamp (if correct) you in for 60 days (it is actually 59 days (with day of arriving counting as Day 1)
and he will mark your visa with the number 1 (first entry) and the date.
(Before leaving immigration Check, Check, Double Check the stamp he gave you in your passport.
(If the stamp is wrong It's easy to correct there and then but a hassle when you have left the airport)
- Enjoy your stay in Thailand, you now have around 59 days to enjoy yourself.
Step 2) - Before these 59 days are over you have to find out where the nearest immigration office is.
a couple of days before the date which is stamped in your passport go to immigration,
get a TM7 doc (available at the Desk) fill it in, stick a passport photo on it and hand it over together with 1900 THB.
The will give you another 30 days in the LOS.
Step 3) Before these 30 days are over, you have to make up your mind what to do, want to stay in Thailand or travel to another country.
If want to stay in Thailand, you have to find a Visa Run Company (you also can do it yourself but a Visa Run is just easy and comfie)
This visa run company will take you to a neighboring country, get you stamped out of Thailand, stamped in the other country, stamped out of the other Country, and get you stamped in Thailand again with a new 60 Day entry. (Again check the stamp which was given by the immigration officer). If you only had a 2x entry Tourist Visa, the officer will stamp "USED" on the Visa. Don't be alarmed when he does this !! This Visa Run company will charge you around 2000 THB (and how long it takes will depend on where you are. For example a Visa Run from Pattaya leaves around 6am and your back home around 3pm)
After this you have another 59 days to enjoy. From here you have to do Step 2 again, and if you have a 3x Entry Visa also Step 3 again.
Just be careful and look at the "Enter Before" date on the Visa. That date means that you have to use the last entry of your visa before THAT DATE.
I hope this helps a bit !!
