  1. <snip>

FWIW and more savvy members may already know all this, but I actually linked to and read Yahoo's Privacy Policy and T&Cs and found another link to a Network Advertising Initiative org. http://www.networkadvertising.org/choices/ , which Yahoo says it's a member of.

Above link scans your 'puter on arrival and in my case, found 70 advert orgs that my browser is signed up to for this user based advert crap. I opted out of all just on principle. Took 3 separate scans and about 10-15 minutes to get all 70, noted you have to do this (as well as Yahoo opt out) for each computer your use, something about cookies, etc. The site recommends further you scan from time to time, it's not a one time "cleaner".

    <snip>

Good link, thx for that, if you don't like these trackers use a addon like ghostery (which disables them forever) and after you close your browser run ccleaner and select the cookies you want to keep and remove the rest !!

  2. The student will not be blacklisted, that is a whole process that includes very senior officials and carries an appeal.

Which is not to say the student can try to extend.

That is why Mario I said kind of blacklisted, lets call it unofficial blacklisting by the officer, he is not going to get an extension in Bangkok anymore. I really don't think he will. Perhaps in another immigration office.

    Kind of blacklisted?

Is that like being kind of pregnant?

For the lack of a better word. Unofficially blacklisted in the local immigration office. Local form of blacklisting blacklisted.

Rename it to; Not very welcome in that particular Immigration office anymore !!

  3. But the old internet still does not work right here.

Why can't they just fix the present internet first and then worry about the address thing afterwards?

What good does it do to care about running out of addresses if this whole local network is so slow that no one really wants to use it in the first place?

Internet connectivity is a Global Thing and not only a Thai problem, so they first have to solve the Global Thingy and then eventually (when nothing else matters) maybe fix internet within Thailand.

Global concerns count for more then the Internet Connectivity problems of Somchai in the backwaters of Fareast Isarn !!

  4. IPv6 dates from 1998. How is this "news".

The whole planet has been migrating (at the speed of a glacier admittedly) to IPv6 for at least a decade.<snip>

Because it's almost too late, and that means they may have to take action, but lets first talk about it some more etc etc etc etc etc thumbsup.gif

  5. Downtime could be possible as they need to change to ipv6 capable equipment, also eventually (if you already don't have one) you have to change your Router/ Modem at home to be ipv6 capable.

But don't expect this to happen in the near future, my guess it is another 3-5 year wait.

  6. I'll wait for the notice from Yahoo about this.

“Beginning the week of June 3, 2013, older versions of Yahoo! Mail

(including Yahoo! Mail Classic) will no longer be available. After that,

you can access your Yahoo! Mail only if you upgrade to the new

version. When you upgrade, you will be accepting our Communications Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. This includes the acceptance of automated content scanning and analyzing of your communications content.”

    Link: http://techcrunch.com/2013/06/02/yahoo-shuts-down-mail-classic/

    or direct from Yahoo

    http://help.yahoo.com/kb/index?locale=en_US&y=PROD_MAIL_CLASSIC&page=content&id=SLN8519

    Something Interesting from that page:

If you prefer to opt out of interest-based and contextual-based

advertising resulting from your scanned and analyzed communications

content, you can change your settings at any time using our Ad Interest Manager.

  7. thank for useful detail, seems like this way is much easier than report to immigration every 3 month.smile.png

    Sorry Yarinda,

I think you are mistaken on this

It takes for me from leaving home, going to immigration, doing my 90 day reports and getting back home around 45mins - 1 hours.

But on a Visa Run, I leave home around 6am and will be back around 3-4pm.

So for me the 90 day report is way faster.

Ps: I am only comparing 90 Day Reporting with 90 Day visa runs

PsPs: Don't forget, a lot of Immigration Office also accept Mail in 90 Day Reports. (so it is only a trip to the Post Office)
