Just in case anyone is interested, last night's fireworks kicked of at 8:15pm. There were 4 sessions in all. I missed the first, 2nd was Singapore, 3rd USA and the last China. The last session kicked off at 11pm.

I can't read the event schedule, but perhaps tonight's schedule will be about the same.

I suggest bringing a nice thick towel or two and camping on the beach in between Soi 7 and 8, right in front of the barges.

In whole honesty if it was that expensive Id find a cheap flight out there as I think that the shipping fee (DHL, Fedex etc) will be bloody expensive.

Not sure of the relevance of petrol prices. You can't be CC since no service was accepted and performed, and no tipping issues.

The excuse for petrol sorry diesel prices was used by them to justify their price.

It seems that your a Cheap Charlie if you refuse to pay 200 THB for a Big C Taxi for a short distance, and if you ask their excuse for these amounts, they say "Petrol Prices", but if you say Petrol is still at 29.xx for a long time. The shut up and walk away.

I bet next time they will ask you money for helping you loading stuff in to their car.

91 regular is 43.75 and 91 gasohol is 35.38 thb/liter

to compare.. that same petrol in Jan 2012 was

91 regular 35.77 and 91 gasohol was 32.74 thb/liiter

the small garmin oregon (I have the oregon 200) can load the blue charts and they are waterproof.

OK it is small and hardly a marine GPS but it can do everything.

I see from a paper in Bkk today that a monk in chon buri just won 54 million on the lottery, as the saying goes you could not really make it up. Could be a slow connection to a specific hot-linked page of avatars, or a slow connection generally, or a "filter" in your isp's system, or a dodgy browser, or a browser cache full, or maybe the image actually doesn't exist anymore.
