SIL died very suddenly last year, lots of tears at the funeral as it was so very sudden. FIL died 2 months ago after a sick bed of well over 2 years with being bedridden for well over 6 months. Not a lot of tears on his funeral as the family was already prepared for it. So it depends

Nope not from the Uk. I have to pay myself and thus send the hospital an email just to ask if I could come and visit them. I was already planning on going back there for Driving license and passport renewal so. I am totally not happy that the local Doc wants to do both eyes just days apart. So I want to make sure..

Don't rush. I also need this surgery and I am seriously thinking of flying back to my Home Country and have a visit to the Eye Hospital there. I am going tmrw for a 2nd opinion and if that differs from opinion #1 I am not sure what to do yet. Don't gamble with your eyes I think losing eye sight is one of the worst things that can happen to someone.

But do you have any idea why a Doc then recommends same day or next day for the 2nd Eye?

I agree, but in my case did recommend to have both eyes done within days apart, no idea why. Maybe because my eye sight differs too much (left vs right) but that is guessing

Thx, but I am staying away from Pattaya Immigration as I don't want to make the problem worse then it is. (oke maybe I am exaggerating a bit) but KiSS works best. I will, after the report date is due and I am back Home, just go to Immigration, apologise profusely and if they have me pay the fine I will gladly do it.

I went to IO today and they did not even mention MAIL-IN for my case, and yes WE ASKED. They said because I stay longer then 1 day in Pattaya I have to register with Jomtien Immigration (a so called TM30) and then I have to do my 90 Day report there. Oke maybe my bad that we were totally honest why we were there, but that is what they said. I have no reasons to believe (at the moment) that Mail-in Reports are even at all possible at Buriram IO.

Id rather pay the 2k THB then have all the hassle etc like going to Jomtien etc etc and then when coming back to Buriram they hassle me there. The 2000THB fine is oke with me as the alternatives are, sending my passport (never intended to do anyway) or have my wife spending 2 days in a bus just for the 90 days report, Nah. The 2k fine it will be. Edit: I will make sure, that when we check in the hotel, that they don't file a Tm30 but will use my wife's ID card to check in
